I would size .5 down only if you get too much heel slip.

Racers fit more snug than trainers for me. And since 12.5s are so rare, I get a 13 in racers. 12 in trainers.

To me it feels fine. I only have noticed slippage the first few times I’ve worn my trainers. It goes away once broken in. I usually go with no show or loafer socks too.
