I think hands down, the XSi outperforms the XTi, and also offers some features that the XTi does not. But still the XTi is a great camera. All itcomes down to is how much you want to spend.Originally Posted by jretro23

XSi is better, has live view if that's important to you, better FPS, newer Digic III chip, 2 more megapixels for larger prints. Usually moremegapixels doesn't really matter but hey it is something better than the XTi. Also XSi has higher IQ when using a higher ISO. XSi also has spot metering.Just do your research and see what camera suits you better and what your budget will let you get. Both are great cameras and really can't go wrong witheither one.Originally Posted by jretro23

just keep in mind that the XSi is not a replacement for the XTi but rather a step up from the XTi. the functions are relatively the same but theXSi does outperform the XTi in many ways. i also feel that the XSi has better handeling. the ergenomics are on point. really easy to change settings on the goand w/ one hand at that. if you're looking to get one new, i suggest you buy the body only and get an upgraded lens. not that the kit lens is bad at allbut if you want a good piece of glass to start off w/ in the mid range it's a good idea to look at the tamron 17-50 2.8. if you can afford it, the canon17-55 2.8 IS USM is an amazing lens from what i've heard and seen. if you're tight on the budget, get the kit and i promise you won't bedisappointed. i've been shooting with it for close to 4 months now and it has given me some fantastic results but sometimes i do wish it would work betterunder low light. either way you can't go wrong seeing as how the lens is what really matters but the XSi is def. a great deal, especially at the pricepoint it's being offered at nowOriginally Posted by jretro23
good looking out santi and jrd. looks like xsi it is! plus it's only $100 more than the xti, so might as well.

Buying a $1000 DSLR wont magically make your pictures good.
Keep in mind - all of us are capable of taking bad pictures with the best camera available.
Don't get caught up in just camera bodies and lenses. It's the photographer that makes the shot, not the camera.
clean imo, but the only thing i would've changed/did was move the camera to the right and up just a little bit to get the top of that tallbuilding or cropped/cloned out that thing at the top left corner... overall it's a dope shot.. good stuff everybody
