Official Pizza Appreciation!

Had catered pizza at work earlier at our Labor Day outdoor 🍕 party. Pizza was catered by Aqua E Grano. Really good stuff here. Their dough crosses between Neapolitan and New York styles. It has the foundation of the Neapolitan, with the crispy, thin-crust of the New York style. All the ingredients were super fresh.

i'm in Buffalo NY and just tried one of the better pizza places (according to locals/yelp)....meh it's alright. Buffalo Style is apparently a thing though. it's kinda sloppy, lots of cheese, cup and charred pepperoni

Which place did you try?

I visited Buffalo a few times but my family never wanted to get pizza. Asked my bro if there were any good spots and he said most are just aight.

so far, Lovejoy and Allentown Pizza. Allentown (top pic) was actually good. Lovejoy (bottom) was just a messy heap of dough, sauce, and cheese. gonna try Bocce Club Pizza next before i head out

I’ve never heard of of tried these places. When I was there it’d be La Nova or Mister Pizza.

The slice on the right is what I think of when it comes to ny style pizza. The fresh mozzarella and sauce is a perfect match.

La Nova on West Ferry or La Nova on Main Street in Williamsville? former was really good in da 90's.

West ferry
yeah they're actually very well known to the point where I bet ppl would speak against them just to be contrarian. I live in the suburbs so it was never very practical to eat there but would stop in from time to time like 1997-1999. the greazy lookin cheese & charred pepperonis but it all tastes good are def what I think of when I Think of Buffalo pizza but I don't necessarily have any 1 ideal about how pizza in this part of NY is supposed to be, I think pizza spots are the most common type of local restaurant next to Greek spots so I mean it's bound to be diverse.

that makes sense on what pizza from this part of NY is. the thick cut and charred pepperonis are great

Alot of Albanians own pizzerias in the NY metro are.

Alot of disgruntled Italians make comments from time to time

So what do they think shouldhappened?

Should nobody else be allowed to make a living selling cheese and tomato sauce slapped on some dough?

Crust looks dry and hard as hell.

How was it.?

Oh absolutely 💯. Match made in heaven I'd say & with that drizzle of hot honey it made it that much better.

It was def dry but softer than it looked. I enjoyed it & mostly all the employees said good things about them. It was crunchy yet soft without being excessively hard crust wise.
