Trump and his team “need to convince the American people, including the people who voted for them, that they’re working to help the country, not just make a bunch of billionaires even richer

These are the words of someone who is slowly realizing they've been conned, but is still in denial about it.

Interesting to read that there are four GOP senators who literally have nothing to lose opposing Trump right now. Moscow Mitch is done in 2026 (and may die before that) and he still has influence over a deciding vote if it comes down to it. Susan "he learned his lesson" Collins is done in 2026, and that seat will turn blue when she finally buzzes off. There are two other GOP senators not up for re-election until 2028 (Murkowski) and 2030 (the Utah guy, who isn't MAGA) that joined in on telling Gaetz to kick rocks because Trump will be gone by the time they're up for re-election. Those are four votes that can sway anything.
