Illinois have been getting disrespected something terrible here. They're a damn good football team, beat Ohio St. in the horseshoe, yet their the 14 point underdogs against an overrated Trojans team that lost to Stanford?
I see the Illini proving all doubters wrong, winning comfortably. 45-24 Illinois.
, they have been getting disrespected since the onlyreason they got in was because of the Rose Bowl's insistance on a traditional Rose Bowl matchup. They are a 9-3, Big Ten team, lowest ranked BCS team tomake it to a BCS bowl.
#6 Missouri and #11 Arizona State (Pre-blowout) deserved the nod over the Illini, furthermore they came from a stronger conference. On top of that, Missouribeat them. It is not that Illinois is getting "disrespected", but they have a lot to prove. They got into the dance on a technicality, leavingprettier girls outside in the cold.
I also wonder which USC team will show up, the one that lost to Stanford or the one that crushed ASU. With the time off and the team on the healthy side, I sayit will be the latter. Illinois fnished the season strong, but they also had their struggles, losing to Michigan and Iowa and struggling to beat Ball State.
It will be an interesting game, close in the beginning, but USC will pull away in the end.
38-24, USC.
I passed on going to the game, couldn't afford the financial hit ($150 per) after X-Mas. I overspent again.
. If it was a better opponent I would have dusted off the ol' credit card.
we (SC) always have problems with QB's that can run
That is a misconception. We struggled miserably against one freak of nature, Vince Young.
USC played two, one decent and one spectacular, running QB's this season.
They did a good job neutralizing Jake Locker and a healthy Dennis Dixon.
They held Dixon to 157 yds passing and 76 yards rushing. Most of it coming in the first half.
