Because there are so much fewer of them produced. Much easier to set the market on them. Sucks, but I guess us customers did it to ourselves. During peak Jordan days we begged Nike to flood the market, and they obliged. At least now you can get most of them on sale. Those of us who were buying Sauc9ny and Asics the last 10 yrs were blessed with most folks ignoring the models, and if you wanted something (especially a GR) you could pretty easily get it, and often for up to half off. It all balances out in the end, and it's all cyclical anyway.
