On the question that I asked about changing the lighter shade of red (circle shape) back into the darker shade of red on the 2016 AJ 1 Bred. Do you all think leather lotion will bring back the shade of red that it needs to be, or should I go ahead and just get some Angelus and get it over with? Also, does anyone here know which color Red Angelus paint is the right color combination for the AJ 1 2016 Bred?
you can try. but when leather is wet it will look darker but then get lighter when it dries.
as far as the color, call angelus. they will tell you.
but fyi, I did warn you, bro. and without pics, nobody can really offer you decent advice. Youll have a few problems you gotta watch out for..
1 the paint not matching. even the right paint may not match. paint ages and changes hue, thats why people usually dont recommend touch up painting.. in order for it to match, you gotta paint the entire thing.
2. painting ontop of painting can cause chipping or other issues.. which is why before painting you gotta prep the surface so the paint sticks to it. for touchup may not be an issue. but if you paint on a chip prone area, it will chip off the paint and take the old paint around the area with it.
which leaves me to this. if you dont know what your doing, you may mess up your shoes more through tryjng to repair. do yourself favor, find a leather expert (if your painting ontop of the leather), e.g. any shoe repair that works leather shoes - they can literally show you what to do if you are good with people. otherwise, they may offer it for free.
when you go from cleaning., and maintenance and start getting into the grey area of restore/repair - thats a dangerous place.
Id say live with them the way they are. But then again youve shown no pics, so I cant see how big or small thus circle area is or where on the shoe it has occured on.
If we cant see, we cant help ya.
