I officially started my quest to re-gain control over the crumbling and sole separating shoes in my collection. To knock the rust off of my re-glue game, I started with an easier job that just happens to be one of my favorites of all time. Worked out great. Wearing 20-year old kicks like they are new releases. Many more re-glues to come.

It’s called bloom or spew that seeps out from the leather itself (in this case it’s an oil which makes it look like glitter). This product should get rid of the glitter and also seals the leather to prevent it from happening again. Hope this helps

my 2012 Jordan 4 white cement soles finally separated. i wear them often and the soles are firm. Is it better to find replacement soles because of their age or just reglue them for now???

I'd keep the glitter. This makes it easier to authenticate the shoe.

On the heels of whitening the soles on my barkleys yesterday, I tried the toes caps of my 04 Olympic 7s and the soles of my 01 royal 1s. Haven’t worn either in a very long time and they had some extensive discoloration. Only about 90 minutes of sun but decent results. Prolly do another session for the 1s later this week. Need a new can of infinity barge cement too…

OG Highs needed a full reglue. The CF came off and all lol I like my job on these and I’m improving with each one. Keep practicing on your own shoes!

I just use the Salon Care 40 stuff.

I bought the 1s for my wife and she wore them 3 times, they sat unboxed in the closet and turned a horrible yellow. I asked in here months ago and didn’t get an answer. I came across Vicks cleaner. And I used his detoxifier cleaner that’s made for yellow outsoles and the came out almost perfect. So, if you’re having an issue with yellowing, I’d definitely recommend this.

I feel like all this stuff is just repackaged Salon Care 40 Vol Creme, but I could be wrong.

Maybe someone in here can let us know if the “sauce” from these sneaker cleaning companies is different than the stuff we buy from beauty supply stores.

I have done both and salon care by itself will work best if submerged, like they use for old hard plastic oxidation. That being said, they probably add something that thickens it so it stays on during sessions.

Basic cornstarch is whats used to thicken it up.

That is just PL paint. If you could get a good buff on them it might work out the scratches (it actually lowers the PL thickness to match the scratches but it will look better).
