The retro uses a thicker material than the authentics. The authentic feels a lot more thinner than my other adidas authentic kits. Feels like it can tear easy.

Loving the new Retro jersey but like you said, this years kit is just a constant reminder of mid table dwelling. It blame it on the Adidas contract.
