They swipe your phone to make sure it’s an actual text and not a screen shot of the text. They also check ID and credit card to make sure it matches the system.

Other than that, not sure if they look at the actual time slot you’re given. I’ve never lined up before my appt time.

Oh, they also check phone and ID twice. Once when you’re originally checked in and a second time right before you go in the store.
