***** Official The Game Thread*****[Final Album "Westside Story'' TBA]

Really curious to see what critics say about this album. There's no way you can say this is a bad album. This sounds like pure hip hop.

people don't like "real" hip hop in this era anyways, but this kind of music isn't for anybody who just began listening to hip hop. there's a mix of storytelling, lyricism and pure rap tracks on here. i think it's balanced well.

Kendrick made it mainstream cool again though lol

It's sad really

hip hop has shifted to something else, it's not the same genre as before. people call this type of music as "dust" or some other form while most of the stuff now is just music full of repetitive words.

Record sales don't mean ****. I'm not gonna front this 1st disc is flames and imma listen to it way more then I did Cole album but I guarantee it won't outsell cole album.

Let's be real if he was on a major it wouldn't either. Point being record sales don't mean ****. Doesn't mean what's good and what's not it just means who white people like the most.

So why do they keep track of them? Why do artists sign with billion dollar corporations, and SELL their product, then claim sales don't matter?

Sales do matter. They ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will. How much they matter, is relative.

If you sell as much as Cole did in todays climate without a mainstream single or a single at all then yes it does mean something. Obviously anyone calling him boring is in the minority or y'll don't support your favourite rappers.

I like Cole, but I 100% understand when people call him boring

I like nas only knock is his terrible production, but this the jayceon thread and the material he put out deserves to be talked about. I'm low key hyped for part 2.
