The Monarchs are the Viagra of the Sneaker Community!

I think Sean Go should do a review on them just for kicks. You can always return them after

i almost spit out my coffee when i read the viagra of the sneaker community hahaha

Been telling yall its about to be on this Summer 17. I've been pushing for the Monarchs to be "mainstream" for a while now, and the fruits of my labor are being fulfilled. #TEAMMONARCH #MONARCHWAVE #CHICAGO1MONARCHCW
What's the Chicago 1 Air Monarch look like?!

That's because CG is produced in Canada/is a Canadian company.

How much are CGs in the US? Is this considering the FX or excluding it?

I remember when I was working there in the winter... Alot of Americans said it was cheaper for them to buy here in Canada rather than US

Of course.  We would be singing the same tune/song purchasing domestically produced items in the States if our Dollar was more favourable against theirs.

Remember approximately 10 years back when our Canadian dollar was actually stronger than the US Dollar? Trying to cross the border on a weekend took 2-3+ hours! haha

What I get hit hard the most when I'm in the States is Food/Beverages. The prices at restaurants/starbucks seem reasonable but it doesn't cross your mind until you factor in the FX and you realize you're overpaying :frown: But man's gotta eat and drink!

Both your points are valid on a aggregate/macro level. There are a lot of factors involved (many of which we didn't touch upon).

To end the back and forth, in the current state, it will NEVER be cheaper to purchase items in Canada versus the United States.

For those who did not study economics/commerce in school and are more interested in this topic, google SUPPLY vs DEMAND and Adam Smith's "Invisible Hand" and your eyes will be opened. These are the fundamental building blocks to economics and will answer a lot of your FAQs as to why "we get screwed over in Canada".

I'm honestly glad we're having these types of discussions here compared to what I see/read on the other subs on NT haha. God's definitely LOL'ing up there looking down at us fools "arguing" over this stuff in a sneaker forum of all places given what's going on in today's world.

Happy Friday Y'all! Given the beautiful weather, I decided to flex my Air Max Atmos today at the office. It's pretty neat that there's a small sneaker community at my office. Makes casual Friday more interesting

Canada Goose is now a US company. It was bought out by Bain Capital. Luckily it's still made in Canada which keeps the key factor for purchasing alive but it's US dollar trade now. Doesn't change any facts, just figured I'd throw that out there, haha. Still produced here.

Yeah, it happened when somebody scored a pear of Zebras for $700 (this was when they were going for $1400+). People then asked him why the guy sold it for so cheap and he said the seller was really strapped for cash and just needed funds immediately. It then sparked a discussion about how the seller should have taken a payday loan or something and sold the Zebras on StockX/Goat for more. They could then wait for the funds to clear and pay the loan with a ton left over. People then argued that if somebody is in a financial situation where they can't even float a $260 pear of shoes, a payday loan is a horrible idea. Anyways, the discussion continued, and NT Financial Services LLC was born lmao.

Right?! Or just plug the Air Monarchs to some 'influencers' and/or celebs. When the hype booms, increase the prices. They're obviously making money on the shoes selling at $50. Imagine the margins if they sold them at $150!

If a jacket retails for $845CAD here it's $845 USD there.  They use the same retail price just in different currency.

Oh wow, that's a substantial difference. I think it's similar for the UK and EU too. I believe their nominal prices are very similar to ours (maybe 50-100 less), but they just change up the currency.

You're right. Looking at CG price tag in the UK makes you want to vomit. Esp couple years back when it was almost 2:1 exchange.

That's an amazing problem to have! haha

I did not know that! Thanks for the update! Good to know.

Okay yeah, it's only "cheaper" because of the FX... Makes sense.

Anybody use the $50 off $200 from FTL.ca and not receive an order confirmation? Doesn't even show up on VIP orders nor Ebates :smh:
