**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

I'm all good with physical play, but this ref has got to take a bit more control of this match. Both squads are getting away with some pretty hard fouls :lol

It's almost like that game against Guatemala didn't happen, what's going on out there?

Got damn that was ugly but the U.S. got the W. That back 4 was getting manhandled & I don't like what I see so far from Yeidlin in the midfield...

John Brooks was solid tonight. Not enough to give th back 4 a + mark tho :{

Passing overall was sloppy and seemed a step slow compared to the pressure and physical wood Honduras was laying down......

I love Jozy but he was a huge disappointment

Mikey did well on those set pieces for the most part

Fabian didn't seem to connect too well with Zardes nor did Zardes look to be on his A game tonight

Yedlin, disappointing... reminds me of Luiz Mendoza from Mighty Ducks, just goes real fast, can't do much else not even stop... he's still growing

Alvarado put up an Omar like performance

Chandler, stoneface

Dempsey did his thing, Beckerman too

At least Jurgen seemed to have made the right subs tonight

Need to figure out how to counter and make tactical adjustments....

overall, a 2/8 performance by the USMNT.

Be better.

Chandler :lol :rollin
Yedlin needs to play his traditional RB/RWB position instead of being in the mid. I think he lacks the technical midfield skills at times especially under pressure.

Not the greatest of games, but it's a positive result. I'll take it. On to the next one.

Agreed on Yedlin... his defensive deficiencies aren't nearly as pronounced as his attacking deficiencies

plus, his secondary and supporting runs and limited vision from the back third is waaaay more deadly than him idly wasting space in the midfield

Jurgen is likely trying to get Bundesliga Chandler to be a thing at the international level, and I doubt this experiment ends anytime soon....

get some pace in the attack, plus our fullback stable is kinda loaded so we can afford trying Yedlin in the mid

In Jurgen's defense, I kinda see what he's trying to do but at the same time hopefully he understands when things just aren't meant to be

Having said that, Haiti should be an excellent opportunity for Jurgen to get some more GoT Qyburn-like experimentation in... and let Kevin Bacon flourish!!!

Zardes was sloppy and got the ball taken away too easily at times.
I'm not a fan of Jozy, too inconsistent
:lol yedlin was running ike a chicken with his head cut off

Yup. Yedlin on the counter is a nightmare for fullbacks. That pace and the ability to whip it in on the wing or cut in to create a shot or pass in bursts is a lot better than him trying to dribble and create in midfield all the time.

Hopefully Klinsmann stops it soon, love Yedlin, but as a midfielder, not so much. He better prove it this Gold Cup so he can get some burn on your Spurs!
