This match wasn't decided because of coaching though. Could've been Luis Enriquez out there and they weren't beating Mexico tbh..I dont know what we or anyone sees in Poch.

Im speaking about the hire in general, this whole tourny was toast when they announced the players.
I hated the hire then and still do now. We're 1 year away from the WC and my confidence is either the same or even less.
Maybe we showed better flashes in other matches but this was the only match I watched. I just thought it was funny because it was like watching a Tottenham match thats all.

Again, I have fallen out of touch with USMNT so I'm not as die hard or invested anymore but I still want them to do good. Just realized where we are actually in terms of competition so I'm not so devastated everytime we lose anymore. I would been fuming 10-15 years ago losing to Mexico.

Nah I completely feel you. I'm not the biggest fan of Poch either, but the federation put itself in that position by bringing back Berhalter after a ton of controversy. End of the day, the talent pool is what it is and while some of the young guys have talent it just doesn't seem like enough.

Throw the bureaucracy away and focus on merit and we'll actually have a competitive team

I won't write off the US quite yet, but only because we were missing some key players. Balo needs to take a massive leap for us to be competitive against anybody next summer though.

Hot take - I don't think Poch has looked everywhere for depth to find his XI. This is a big *** country and he and his scouts should be going state to state, get with the local clubs/programs and see what players he can find and identify them! I know it's a reach and a big ask but wtf . Also, he needs to look beyond MLS for depth. He needs to find Americans/Dual Nats playing in USL and in lower leagues here and abroad.
Also we shouldn't fire Poch now. Wait till we get eliminated in the group stage next year.

Stop it a team of reserves and fringe national players from 2000 gets washed too and looks even worse doing it.
The 2002 WC team caught lightning in a bottle.
The individual standard for American players is obviously higher in 2025.
But other teams in the region have improved too and better individual players isn’t contributing to collective team success which is a problem that hasn’t been figured out.

People love to romanticize teams from that generation but current first 11 team beats that first 11 team more times than not in a series.
I said teams in our region are better, but really with very few exceptions, the majority of teams in world football are better than a generation ago.
I think that’s part of why individual rising level of player hasn’t translated the way many would have imagined.

Pretty even game throughout, but the U.S. was more dangerous in each half. France completely collapsed after conceding late.
Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Morocco are in a group and I’ve been able to catch every game so far.
That Morocco team is a problem. Beat Spain 2-0 and Brazil 2-1. Didn’t sneak it either, far superior attacking team.

Bro I’m enamored with them. Supremely technical, and built for speed with and without the ball.
The front three are track stars and it feels like the entire team can dribble and carry the ball like prime Mahrez.

Saw some highlights of the US, damn they balled out yesterday. I was not expecting them to wash France like that. I’m impressed. I’m gonna try and catch a game or two today
