Official World Series Texas Rangers vs. San Francisco Giants Thread (4-1) Giants Win World Series!

He's never pitched on short rest in his career, I really doubt it's because he's going to get paid this offseason. His delivery is compact and short and his elbow and forearm don't receive stress from his pitches, I highly doubt he'll get injured and I doubt that's what he's worried about.

With him never pitching on short rest if he's worried about anything it'd probably be how his mechanics would fare.

The last person in this series whose heart should be questioned is Lee (refering to the article dland posted). A dude going from an 18 game winner to being demoted and busting his @*$ towards rebuilding his entire pitching persona from scratch for a year to become one of the best pitchers in the MLB shouldn't have his heart questioned. IMO.

You bring a good point to the table and I'm not going to disagree.

But it's the World Series and this is what the players live for. If it means going on short rest to give your team a chance, I think that he's got to do it.

I definitely get that. But, if your best pitcher has qualms and worries about his location and effectiveness going on short rest it makes Ron's decision even harder. If they lose and Washington goes up to him and says "I'm giving you the ball for Game 4" Lee might not be happy with it but I doubt he'd say "No thanks."

I think I'm just overlooking Game 3

I think it's funny how the analysts have said everyone the giants have faced in the playoffs have gone cold with the bats. The reason they have gone cold is because our pitching has been dominant! Great pitching always wins. History backs that up.

Just to add to that Tim, I think Washington made a huge mistake starting Wilson in Game 2 and having Hunter in Game 4 rather than Holland...
