OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES 2 (NOW AVAILABLE sorta)

I am tired of people calling this brotha speaking from his heart a "rant" because it does take a negative direction when that word is put out there.

Funny he said that in this interview because I had just made that a similar remark on the video from when he was speaking at his concert in Oakland the other night on another board in conversation.

It's like people just want to hear his music and it is supposed to end there or something, makes zero sense.

Folks buy his music, look to him to his fashion presence, and try to emulate it, take his swag, camp out weeks for his sneakers... etc. etc.

And then... when he wants to speak on things that are on his heart, related to music or not; people rip his head off.

Our families and friends listen to our "rants" "issues" or whatever you want to call them, I call them expression and release of feelings and emotions... they give us the platform to express our feelings, thoughts and ideas

whether they be good or bad... and from there they help motivate us, lift us up and get back on track to being great, following those dreams that the haters pull us down for...

All I am saying is I can appreciate the fact that he has the courage to say how he feels and let the chips fall, most people are not able to do such a thing...

Now trying to get into these other lanes with fashion and product design, I think he needs to channel that better when meeting with these fashion houses and whomever else he is looking to for backing.

This was an EXCELLENT interview, but if had a weird moment in there when he got hostile randomly and even the interviewer caught that and asked if that is how he talks in the meetings, and he said "yes"

I think you have to pick and choose when to pull out such a high level of emotion, and do it at the right moment so it can actually benefit you and not hold you back.

Maybe that is the issue, regardless of all that... I hope he gets it all figured out. I am sure he will soon enough.

We support his music, he makes it for us... to enjoy.

I can take some time out of my day to really listen and hear him out because he has already given me so many gifts.

I hope to reach my dreams and ultimate goals in my life, and I wish nothing but the same for him and any other person working hard to get to that same level as well.

an interesting argument i've heard about the confederate flag issue:

Black people in the South rock confederate flags.  It's easy for outsiders to look down on that and say "I don't care if it's not about slavery, the flag was the banner of a nation that was willing to go to war for the right to enslave Black people."

And the response is, "then why is it ok for Black people to say the word, '*****'?"

An actual argument I heard between a Black dude from Mississippi and a dude from Jersey.

I didn't pick a side.

Very interesting point. He mentioned briefly in the interview that the whole point of the flag was to reference "new slaves". I think the idea is dope and though offensive it brings attention to the state of mind that "we" (blacks) are in and the keeping up with the jones' mentality.

Homie my grandparents lost family to the clan I will never ever rock that id spit on a black person who wore that
And I'd 100% understand you doing so.   Would never ever wear a confederate flag.  Ever.  But I'm also not southern.

But at the same time the whole "heritage, not hate" argument exists.

all that said, without watching any of his interviews where he explains why he's using the symbol on his clothes, based on the black KKK from his shows/video I can safely assume Kanye is co-opting the flag as a "taking it as our own" statement.

to which i say, i get it, but yeah i wouldn't rock that.

I'm in the south and if we see anybody rocking with that flag. It raises a "red flag"

Very ignorant to say the least.

I'm in the south as well. When you start seeing confederate flags, you know you've ventured too far from the city and are in a different environment.

Indeed. Why would you want to take something like that as your own? Them old racist dudes who really rep that flag prolly looking at you laughin. On some Clayton bigsby type ****.

Yup a lady broke it down for me the other day and it seriously made me reconsider and try to stop saying that ****. It's hard when that's all you say and you are around that language 24/7 but I will try.

Doesn't the n word come from the Sanskrit word naga and nagini which more or less relates blackness of the highest divinity??
