Dudes complain just to complain. Straight up contrary, right out the gate; that's how people generally are.

Kaman used to be severely underrated in his Clipper days. Still a solid role player now.

No, we didn't just sign prime Hakeem for the league minimum like most of you expect, but I like it.

Exactly.

We're on the same page on this one.
People expect every signing to be a David Robinson or Shaq type talent. We can't do **** with our cap space. Kamans as good as it'll get for this 1 year. He's not great but he's serviceable.

People forget that Kaman had many 20 and 20 games. He may not do that with us, but I'll take him.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the :| and :{ for? It's a 1yr minimum deal for a backup center
Who's gonna play PF? I think he and Gasol will play together.

Ehhh, in d'antoni's system I don't know if that'll be best for the team next yr. We tried to make it work last year with two bigs because we HAD to.

And as for PF?, here's to hoping we can sway LO back to the P&G

Lakers and Chris Kaman, I've told, have agreed to terms on one-year deal

Our biggest problem is in the defensive end and protecting the paint especially with Nash and a one legged Kobe.

You think teams will get intimidated with Pau and Kaman manning the paint. We couldve used that for a shot blocker.

Yes he's a servicable Big but he doesnt fill the need that the team has with Dwight's departure.

Its going to be a layup drill for most teams next year.

so yeah :{:|

If LO would come back, that'll be great. People are hating on Kaman, but Pau is just as ******g slow, so I don't see the big deal. Having Pau start and Kaman back him up, with LO at PF with Jordan Hill backing him up sounds cool to me. We were ****** defensively with Dwight, and I don't see how people expect it to get better. The only thing we could do is run a ******g zone for the whole game, but that wouldn't last for two quarters.

As in who?????????? 8o

It's an absolute waste of resources if Kaman was signed for anything more than the minimum. The Lakers are more or less set at the center position between Pau, Hill and Sacre (assuming he's re-signed). The rotation should be serviceable enough (though far from perfect). The team needs to be adding some athleticism, length and youth on the wings like Kobe and Mitch talked about during the exit interviews.

Going back back to......[/quote]Dammit, Chris. You're doing it wrong. :lol

Lol @ Kenyon Martin being a better center option. Dude is done yo. No explosiveness left, no offensive game other than put back lay ups... C'mon now. :{

Come up with a list of real centers that are options.

since this is antoni's team it would have been better to sign a kenyon martin and lamar odom

C pau, hill, odom

PF hill martin odom, rookie

SF metta, martin, kobe
Again how do you know Kenyon wanted to play for us?

nobody said anything about center guy. reading is fundamental

we already set there. pau and hill. if they sign odom he could play the center as well. and we have that bum sacre as well.

I see what you're saying P, but we all know _'Antoni ain't giving Sacre any burn. He'll just be sitting at the end of the bench as insurance for Hill and Pau. Hill and Pau are not enough of a big man rotation. We needed another serviceable big man, and I'm pretty confident we got Kaman for close to the minimum (at least I hope so).

We'll need to scout our summer league team for a few weeks to add that much needed wing athleticism you speak of. There's not much of it that we can get right now for a cheap price. As sad as it is, our summer league squad is our most realistic chance of getting some young wings.
