Nah bruh not in Miami, fool was banking off Up but everybody except him where getting credit for the song. Jeezy was already executive producing his album since 2012, it just so happens when buddy signed with CTE he gets on "Act Right" with Gotti and gets Drake on "Who Do You Love". Man Jeezy was gon give YG "RIP" and I dont even consider "My *****" YGs song becuase he contributed the least, if he was on his way why didn't his singles pop.I hate to be the one but yg was on his way before cte. Him n mustard had a sound n were being played heavy. I even heard a few tracks in a club here before everything popped off. I'd credit mustard for yg being big more than anybody.
Cte cant even get dudes mix tapes to buzz. Everybody that had any sort of success over there had a buzz before inking the deal. Mustard is the reason behind yg success point blank period. U can put him with anybody in the game without what ended up being the industry sound the last year he would be nobody.Nah bruh not in Miami, fool was banking off Up but everybody except him where getting credit for the song. Yall laughing like Jeezy ever signed real talent besides Gibbs. Awhile QC aint even get Migos a release date after all they tapes got love and their singles are actually charting and thats their best artist.
I produced this record. Super cool to see people rock with it.Bruh, buddy music been getting me through my workouts.
Well it's mostly aligning ppl. If you signed w/ CTE or Bricksquad you got a team to back you and a studio rap in. Most indie rappers we know of are signed to record deals just not major ones where they would be given money, a budget and are still free to sign with a major (Wiz Khalifa w/ Rostrum Records).
We talking about signing record deals? Where they do that at?
Someone still applying old music business model logic to the current landscape is severely out of touch.
Your FAVORITE rapper wishes they could be independent. Like...what the hell does it even mean to sign to a CTE or a Bricksquad in 2015? You think it's smart to sign to another rapper that's signed to 3 other ****** and is just going to pimp you like they're being pimped?Corporate hip hop is a big ******* Ponzi scheme right now.
It's a different music business right now. The true creatives are figuring out how to use resources to the best of their ability in order to monetize their own art direct to consumer. The internet changed everything. Ya'll not paying attention to what Nipsey Hussle is doing?
Yea but if you figure in that each copy came with a ticket to his concert and all the money dude spent for promo and feats, he prolly only made back less than half. Reason why Mailbox Money cost a grand and come w/ a listening session dude getting smarter. Dude making boss moves but I'm pretty sure dude going through majors right now to get Victory Lap on the shelvesAnd Nipsey Hussle just made 100K from selling his own project at $100 a pop. You live under a rock?
Dont see it on the mixtapeOnly gave it a quick skim, buy I'm really digging How I'm Feeling with Skippa and Takeoff. **** just floats, played it like 10 times already
I really like the first song. Dude is hella versatile tho. Its not fair to compare him to anyone. I truly think he got next
Dude is a true artist. You can tell he really puts a lot of work in conceptualizing and detailing. He has the perfect blend of content too. He can appeal to every audience
