Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I mean I don't think he was anything great in TSN.. sure he played a double role but it wasn't a fantastic performance or anything. IMO at least.

I really enjoyed "The Way Way Back"

Definitely one of my favorite films this summer.

Sam Rockwell was awesome, along with the rest of the cast

Here are my favorite films of 2013 thus far - Short Term 12, The Spectacular Now, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Pretty One, Before Midnight, Disconnect and Fruitvale Station

Did you catch The Iceman? Really liked that one as well.

Haven't caught Before Midnight or The Pretty One.

The Place Beyond the Pines, Disconnect and Fruitvale Station were all awesome imo

picked up the place beyond the pines blu ray today..

still need to see disconnect.. is it out on br yet?

Hammer did well in J Edgar with Leo but I don't want to see him as Bruce Wayne. I'd be really upset if they messed up The Dark Knight Returns story line...

Speaking of Leo, he's producing & trying to get made a viking film based on one of history's most fascinating people King Harald III (aka Harald Hardrada - The Tough Ruler). Dude had the stones to storm the shores of England back in 1066.
They cover a lot of that in the Vikings tv series on the History channel. I hope Leo gets it done.

I didn't see The Iceman. I heard extremely mixed reviews, more bad then good.

The Pretty One will be out later this year I believe and Before Midnight is out now in limited release or it's just left theaters. Part of the Richard Linklatter Before Sunrise, Before Sunset trilogy

I'm not convinced Ridley can pick a good script anymore. His directing ability isnt what worries me. Prometheus was gorgeous. But that's all

The Place Beyond the Pines, Disconnect and Fruitvale Station

Phenomenal movies. Treasured each of them. Didn't Beyond the Pines come out in 2012 though?

I would add "The Way Way Back" to my list also.

Will check out "We're the Millers" tomorrow :smokin

I still need to see "Only God Forgives" and "Girl Most Likely"

Wouldn't mind seeing "Blackfish" but I don't think I can handle that. I'll probably set the movie theater on fire afterwards

^It's good, I enjoyed the story, actor choices and one of Nick Offermans's lines in the movie was worth the entire viewing of the film

a sleeper movie for me this year

2 great interviews with Wong Kar-Wai regarding The Grandmaster. The first interview is with Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner. The 2nd interview is with noted movie blogger Dave Poland. If you're a movie fan, check out his blog and/or youtube page.

Thanks for this. I know The Grandmaster has gotten a pretty mixed reaction critically but I loved it. Zhang Ziyi was amazing in it and this was the film that finally converted me into a fan of hers (hated all her roles before this).

Adam Scott is an underrated comedic actor. Dude should be bigger.
