Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Man, I just realized I have Man of Steel, Carrie, Iron Man 3, Les Mis, and The Wolverine... and haven't watched them yet.

Oh, and Frozen. Watching that tonight w/ my girl and my lil dude, though.

Not really asking anything. Was just looking at my DVDs and realized that, because I got them and then put them away alphabetically... and forgot. *shrugs*

Actually, I do want to ask something.

First Class
Days of Future Past
Origins: Wolverine
X-Men
X2
X3
The Wolverine

Chronologically (according to the story, not according to when the movie came out), is that right?

dont get all the hype for frozen. it was average at best. one of the weakest disney films. then again it was not targeted for adults :\

^ Not hyped at all.

Was totally an "Alright, babe. If you say so" purchase.

"I'm telling you, Ian* will LOVE it!", she said.

"Daddy, we have FROZEN?!", he said.

"*sigh*", I sighed.

Just... I've heard it's basically an animated musical... and I freaking hate musicals.

Nope and kids, especially young girls, seem to love it. I've already seen multiple instances of girls having Frozen-themed birthday parties at parks around me. I thought it was just ok too, but Disney definitely hit on another goldmine regardless.

The Writer's Room is excellent. Hope that goes on forever.

They need to start including really bad shows, though. I want to hear writers talk out their process that results in utter nonsense.

I loved 21 Jump St. but part 2 looks very wack from the trailers I've seen so far. Mad corny and forced.

Saw the 300 sequel.......I think I liked it, but I'm not sure, because the only thing I seem to recall is how amazing Eva Green is. Like, really amazing. Which is funny, because I was not as impressed with her when she was in Casino Royale. Boy did I whiff on that one. That girl is insane hot. Never have I wanted to get sliced in half by a sword in my whole life. Gracious.

You didn't like her in Casino Royale? I watched it and fell in love. Heck, even Bond fell in love with her. I didn't watch The Dreamers in its entirety until recently. I like watching her odd movies. If she had taken the lead female role in Antichrist though i'd still be traumatized.

Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies. Easily in my top 20 comedies. I've seen it over 100 times. With that said, Anchorman 2 was more painful to watch than a kick in the nuts with some combat boots. Two hours of forced lame jokes. **** was brutal to sit through. I wanted to walk out so bad but I had to finish it

I liked her in Royale fine, I just didn't realize how much I liked her. They kept her under wraps pretty good in that one, not the case in 300. :pimp:

Disney is pretty amazing. They pretty much tell kids what to like and kids listen.

 Yea...that whole "putting movies into the vault" thing, is genius. Manipulating generations right there.

The only explanation for Frozen is that people were so hungry for this kinda movie, and there was just no word about it all. All people talked about was Monsters U and Despicable Me 2 or even Cloudy 2...this was an afterthought as far as animated stuff goes, so low expectations, a story that probably surprised anyone who got dragged to it, and a song people went ******* crazy for.

Water in the desert.

Plus, I think it helped that the main character is basically an X-Men.

sidebar: how would you guys rank the Avenger films?

Timing was everything too.

That holiday release was huge... all the kids off on Christmas break.. gotta go somewhere with them? Take them to the newest Disney movie. The songs were catchy enough to be super popular, the Oscar buzz helped too, and like MrO said.. expectations probably weren't that high. So all you heard was great word of mouth and once people think they're the first to something.. they hype it up even bigger. No one hypes up Pixar movies when they're first released because anyone who is a fan is going to see it eventually. Whereas with this one, people went extra hard to convince others to see it.

For me, I'm going to always dislike the movie for personal reasons. My girlfriend (at the time :smh:) wanted to see this movie so badly, so a friend downloaded it and gave it to her and she just HAD to watch it one night after a big date which annoyed me because I didn't want to  And I'm pretty sure that night was when things went south, because that date was "off" and a week and a half later it was done

**** Frozen

Just finally saw 21 Jump Street with my girl last night.

Honestly did not expect it to be that funny.

We were dyinggggg.

Ice Cube

The chemistry between Tatum and Hill was awesome. :pimp:

Now I can see why a sequel was made.

Excited for 22 Jump street :pimp:
STUPID funny.

I get people complaining about it not being anything close to what the original series was; I get that, totally. But just as a movie, pretending I didn't know the title, or pretending it was called something else, that's a solid flick. :smokin

When they're in the hall and the track coach stops them... real tears.

(errr, real SkaTears)

Funniest movie I've seen in a long time

So many funny scenes

I got no words for the success of Frozen. Still no interest in seeing it from what very little I know of it.

Hmm, not counting Cap 2 obviously (even if I saw it still too early to rank it).

Thor 2
Avengers
IM1
Indestructible Hulk (if this counts)
Thor/Cap (tied for the most part, at this point it doesn't matter)
IM3
IM2

I'm expecting Cap 2 and GotG to end up at the top of this list in due time. There's a real tonal shift going on as we get to the next phase of movies.

**** Frozen
This is how I feel about Disneyland and the month of June.

So **** Disneyland and the month of June.

Avengers
Cap 2
Iron Man
Thor 2
Thor
Iron Man 2
Captain America
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 3

I have Cap 2 placed there because I can already tell. If it exceeds even that what I'm expecting, it jumps Avengers.

Not one single bad word has been uttered on Cap 2 yet. Every soul. I'm dying not getting early screeners. :smh:
