Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

@Master Zik  I hear you.

I got some gadget called a ROKU where I catch a lot of shows on HULU, Netflix or Amazon. These are paid accounts but that gadget has hundreds of FREE channels.

It just added YouTUBE also. I also like the Roku because I can add HBO go on there, without having HBO, from my Parents acct( a few channels I do this with)

But for the shows like Peaky Blinders, Terriers Utopia, Black Mirror, Fall, (the foreigns) I use my wiiU browser to pull them from the Internet to the Tele so I don't have to watch on my laptop.

I can get most movies (in theatres) in great quality on the tele Months before thanks to my wiiU.

The same with the tele shows, a few sites I frequent pull them right to my tele from the wiiU and I haven't found a show that I want to see or that someone puts me up on, that I was unable to find online with these few sites, so I'm really only on cable for Current shows and ESPN.

just saw 22 jump street. actually clever. a lot of references to the original show and jabs at itself. I liked it.

Finally watched tinker tailor soldier spy

Great spy movie. At the very least it's solid. It's not the easiest watch just because you have to patient. Can get complicated had to rewind several times. Excellent acting. the director from the OG version of let the right one in.

Word to Whitebear, I honestly believe that's how some criminals who commit heinous and murderous acts should be punished if torture is off the table.

Out of all the Black Mirror eps, I liked The Waldo Moment the most.

Not sure how you can have a Hendrix bio pic without any of this music...

This kinda has a Lifetime movie feel to it... :rolleyes

It's just good to see it done imo. Feels like Andre has been attached to this for 10 years and given it's been so long I'm not surprised whoever owns the rights for Jimi's music is what was part of the hold up and why they have none of his music in his own biopic.

Like aint that some ****, one studio has the rights to your story, another person or group has the rights to your music and can not reconcile.

With Atwell and Poots I'm all the way in no protection.

Hopefully now 3stax can get to making a solo rap album.

The Waldo joint was a fun take on politics and I said the exact same thing about WhiteBear. Trill **** for the habitual criminal deviants.

My favorite was the first of season 1. National Anthem. The one that Downey bought the rights to was "The Entire History of Us". Season 1 ep2.

15ooo merits reminds me of some life that we are not too far off from already living, in a more cleverly covered up kind of way.

So, I finally saw The Wolf of Wall Street.

You really have to clear your schedule to watch it. Jesus.

My favorite thing about it was comparing it or Leo in various scenes to previous Leo movies/roles.

Quaalude Jordan = Gilbert Grape.

A man obsessed with and motivated by money going from having nothing to having it all = Gatsby.

Working so hard to break the law and elude one particular cop that seemingly makes your case his life = Catch Me If You Can/The Departed.

There was a Titanic scene.

The acting was superb. There was a good amount of funny dialogue. Homegirl is stunning.

Other than that, it was transparent and superficial. Nothing in the story came as a surprise to me. Just a dude turned repulsive by wealth living his life. It was kind of like if you gave the Jackass or Fantasy Factory crews a billion dollars and moved the show to HBO.

I get the hype. Just not for me. And no movie should ever be that long. Ever.

^ :lol @ comparing the ludes scene to Gilbert Grape just to continue your theme of comparing scenes of the movie to past Leo flicks.

All the eps reminded me of our society and some of them really aren't that far away from experiencing.

National Anthem could conceivably happen now :lol I liked Waldo the most simply cuz of the conflicting ideas among the truth being used as a tool. The comedian was basically man child simp. Throwing temper tantrums and began to realize that but couldn't see the great opportunity he had in being able to control the masses. That's where they bring in the typical theme of unifying the population under some symbol to control them.

15 mil merits was just sad similar to Waldo except dude sells out in the end for the good life. He was a simp too but his crush basically being some fetish porn star probably was crushing :lol The one with android seemed like something right out of The Outer Limits but not too blatantly creepy. You think about these Japan cats already making these sex dolls, then all these lonely anti-social dudes. I feel something close to that will be on it's way as a solution for the problems of some ppl. Not being able to separate the reality of situation is what made the whole thing so poignant.

Makes sense RDJR bought the rights to that ep. There's already been a movie or two (and episodes from other shows) sort of based on that (I recall the Robin Williams joint except you didn't have such in the moment control of recalling memory). I can see him turning that in to some romantic drama film.

After looking up the creator of this show and reading about his other work I can really appreciate his overall focus about how ppl are way too obsessed with social media

Also now I know where those Atwell boob touching gifs come from :evil

Just now catching this Leftovers.
Was going to sleep on it because I felt like I'd seen it with all the similar programs dropping lately(skipped those too) that are on the same premise, but nah...this joint has my attention. Kinda creepy this far

. And no movie should ever be that long. Ever.

I dig that. I feel they could have cut twenty-thirty out. Feeling like extra long movies are the trend so they can get ad libs a d jokes in, if the writer would write better jokes they wouldn't have to be so damn long.

Wolf was long but didn't feel as long as it was.

They could have cut stuff out but you could say that about every long movie.

And I rather have a movie that's too long vs too short especially in the theaters where I'm paying

To me, every story can be told in less than 120 min without being rushed. That's all on the writer, put enough info/plot in every scene to keep the movie moving, then the director should work from there. These three hour movies begin to drag and I get anxious.

That being said, Sex Tape...just the premise is ridiculous. They're playing thirty somethings and don't know that once it's on the Internet it's out there? 'No one understands the cloud' ****ohwtbs. I'm sure it can be a pretty decent movie if they focus more on the characters and their relationship than the premise/plot, because the whole idea sounds ridiculous, but hey decent cast, honestly Rob Courdry is the only one I think highly of, Segal is ehhh...one of those freaks and geeks crew...then Cameron Diaz is meh...

I also get the hate die Red Tails...first off Micheal ain't getting captured like that...then Bubs and Cheese working together? That's cool. But the lines are cliche and a little cheesy, but they made them out to be superheroes, black superheroes...yea I liked it a lot.

I cringed during the Sex Tape trailer.. just because there seemed to be nothing but forced "trailer jokes"... NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THE CLOUD... "Siri, how do you perform CPR on a dog?"... YOU'RE DOING COCAINE WITH YOUR BOSS? ha ha ha

I've seen trailers like this and sometimes the movie is better than expected and it's just poor marketing.. but I wasn't confident from watching it. The premise could be interesting.. but rather than trying to destroy "the cloud", find something else to drive the story.

Speaking of Sex Tape, has anyone seen Sx Tape??

Saw it the site with all the movies....
