Quentin Tarantino Says 'Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair' Will Hit Theaters In 2015

Could it really be true? Of the many projects Quentin Tarantino keeps up in the air, the one that excites and frustrates fans in equal measure is "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair." As the title suggests, it's a longer cut of the director's two-part martial arts/vengeance epic, the most notable inclusion being a 30 minute anime sequence. Way, way back in 2011, 'The Whole Bloody Affair' screened at the New Beverly... and that was the last anyone heard about it.

Until this weekend at Comic-Con, that is. Tarantino was on hand at the Dynamite Entertainment panel to talk up his forthcoming "Django Unchained"/"Zorro" crossover comic, and when asked about 'The Whole Bloody Affair,' he gave a typically verbose answer. Here's Tarantino's response, the whole bloody answer, via Slashfilm:

What’s going on with that is originally back when Kill Bill was going to be one movie, I wrote an even longer anime sequence. So you see in the movie [O-Ren] kill her boss but then there was that long hair guy… The big sequence was her fighting that guy. I.G. [The Japanese Anime Studio] who did Ghost in the Shell said we can’t do that and finish it in time for your thing. And [plus] you can’t have a thirty-minute piece in your movie. I said okay. It was my favorite part but it was the part you could drop. So we dropped it and then later when I.G. heard we were talking about doing Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair — they still had the script so without even being commissioned, they just did it and paid for it themselves. It’s really terrific. Anyway, The Weinstein Company and myself were talking about actually coming out with it sometime, not before the year is out, but within the next year with limited theatrical engagement as well.

So, time to celebrate? Maybe plan to take some time off work in 2015? We'll see. 'The Whole Bloody Affair' might be just the thing to hold over fans while awaiting "The Hateful Eight" which will apparently start shooting early next year.

..meh, i was excited for this back in 2009. I'll probably still end up seeing it theaters though.

I'm still sad he's not doing another Kill Bill movie. I was waiting for him to announce it for years then he said it's unlikely.

I would've liked it better if he revealed it was already filmed some time in-between Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2.

While nobody in the cast has gotten hideous older I've never liked the idea of prequel movies coming out after the fact. The chance of not living up to expectations is one huge thing but I funny getting back he cast after a break like that (no matter what the movie) leaves the chance for things not to click again.

With that said I expect another great QT flick. Gotta say though similar to other grand stuff alluded to in his movies I really never expected this story to be made. It'd be like if he made prequel to Pulp Fiction or a sequel following Julius or more possible a movie prequel based on how Mr. Blonde ended up going to prison.

EDIT

I probably should've read the article and not just assume he was doing a prequel movie :lol

Ska, the whole thing with only using 10% of your brain was a myth that got debunked but it was a pretty widespread "fun fact" for a long time. The thing is when they say you only use 10% of your brain they're not talking 10% of an area. It's your entire brain but you're only using 10% of it's potential so to speak. So it's like if you're running but not at your fastest you'd say you're running at 10% of your max speed, that doesn't mean only part of your body that's working is your legs, it's your entire body but just not at the highest level. So you can apply example to brain power so the premise can be a bit clearer. So the whole point about the myth was that is you were using your entire brain at 100% all the time it would unlock a whole bunch of stuff regular humans can not do. Also the premise isn't original, since the myth has been around for a while like I've said you can find a whole bunch of other sci fi stories dealing with using more than 10% of your brain and gaining telepathy or w/e type of 6th sense.

As for it being debunked we do use more than 10% of our brain but we do not use 100% of it all the time. The key thing is all the time and I recall watching something on the science channel that when 100% of your brain is active like that it causes seizures anyway :lol When it comes to what you thought they were talking about, parts of your brain only go in to a sort of rest mode and aren't actively being used when you go to sleep or are in some type of coma.
Makes sense. Thanks.

I know there is a Star Wars thread and I'm not a huge fan of the movies... but I cannot wait for the eventual marketing the movie will get as the release date gets closer.
Fast food restaurants with cool limited edition Large cups and unique hamburger wrapping. Cool Toys, collectibles and figurines. The crappy Wal-mart tshirts. The Star Wars themed flavored slurpee at 7-11. The themed flavor Mountain Dew/Doritos with special codes to purchase merch and win free tickets. The NFL/NBA tie-in commercials.

It's gonna be a blast. I remember how cool this stuff was when Star Wars III came out in 05. Can't wait for it now.

Where is ep 4 of Utopia?
Put that ep up yo.

Ashraf Barhom is amazing in Tyrant.
I believe him.

Nice breakdown, Zik. That concept has been intriguing to me, which is why I wanted to watch Lucy initially (plus Scarlett looks great in it), but it seems like the film is a little too light on actual substance? Haven't watched yet, prob will wait till it's on tv/Netflix.

Caught a few minutes of the ending of Triangle last night. Props again for letting us know about this flick, Kev. Really eerie and different.

Watching Skyfall for the second time. Loved it when it came out, curious to see if I feel the same way 2nd time round.

i rewatched it and i was pretty critical of it at first but lightened up a bit...i was critical of Javier Bardem as Silva but realized it wasn't him, Silva was a poorly written character to begin with...the CGI was overdone as well (the Komodo dragon scene was just

)

Casino was flawless, and I really enjoyed Quantum (because of the continuation of the character development of Bond from Casino). Skyfall had many of the corny nuances of old Bond films that I never cared for, but it was still light years ahead of the Brosnan-films...Craig is on point and if i turn my brain off, its a good, enjoyable movie.

I like Skyfall but it lacks fun to me. I don't enjoy watching it like I do Casino Royale.
