Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Well, we hype/praise the entire show. I'm not sure anybody saw ep 1 od Penny Dreadful and we all came back in droves like it's a must see.

Take the whole season in and tell us how you feel if you can make it through to the end. If you think it's just super boring by ep 3 and don't find any of what they're doing with these fictional monsters and myths interesting just stop.

With that said I'm vey interesting to see what direction S3 goes in with the cast split up.

I feel you. I meant no disrespect, I still value everyone's opinion here, you guys have come through with non-stop clutch recommendations. I think my expectations were just a tad bit too high for the opening episode, but you're right. I need to see some development and give a few episodes a chance, I'm sure things pick up.

I love Penny Dreadful. It's a good horror type of show and I like how they incorporate famous literary characters. It's very gloomy and depressing which is what i'm into. Also helps that Eva Green is in it and a bunch of weird sexual stuff. It fills a void that the other shows I watch don't.

Nah, it's fine. I can totally get how you might have that reaction coming in with certain expectations.

The show has a slow pace with it's dark tone. Lot of talking so in some ways it's more of a mystery with what's going on with the plot.

When the action starts though you gonna see how it has the cool elements of horror and gore from exorcisms to straight up monster slasher violence.

One warning, there's a good deal of sex and not all of it is heterosexual and hell some of the straight sex might have you shook the way certain ppl react afterwards.

I'm halfway done with the Ash Vs Evil Dead show and it's a funny alternative to serious shows.

Finally convinced myself to watch the Hateful 8. Yep....that "story" definitely lives up to the hype :lol

Sam always plays the cool characters. I love it.

this new die hard movie represents everything that's wrong with prequels

prequels are almost always the worst idea ever

Technically Fast the the Furious 5 and 6 were prequels to Tokyo Drift. As was 4, but 5 & 6 is where it's at

That's true, but the fast and furious movies go out of their way to not make any sense so messing up timelines and creating inconsistencies doesn't really matter

Lets be more honest though. F&F sucks, people only watch these to see cars go fast and Vin Diesel grunt for 2 hours.

Tread, lightly.

And Eva is stunning. I watched the 300 sequel just for her. She was smoke in that movie. :smokin

Just saw a preview for the Jessie Owens movie coming out. Kind of random that Jason Sudekis has a major dramatic part.

I was going to see their movie regardless, but that trailer looked awesome.. pretty much exactly what I expect from those two.

I'm on the fence with Key and Peele. Sometimes they do put out some funny stuff, but to me it feels like black humor for white people.

yeah, I'm wondering if they can pull off an entire movie of this pretend to act ghetto joke

it's a cute cat but I dont really care for constantly cutting to a cat in the middle of the movie

I think you're assuming the entire movie will be "pretending to act ghetto" just because there were jokes like that in the trailer. It's also probably going to be a send up of action/revenge/crime movie tropes as well.. considering the premise is partially a joke on John Wick.

Key and Peele have proven to be adept at social commentary, satire, and subverting expectations.. and that's what I'm expecting from this. It reminds of me 21 Jump Street.. with a basic and goofy premise, but ends up being a lot more clever and smart once we see the movie.
