Welcome to the goodie room!

I read up on it and immediately it became clear, my dizzy nausea mess that I thought came from disgust was purely a Cinematic sound effect called 28HZ

“The first 30 minutes of Irreversible features an almost inaudible background frequency of 28 Hz. It's a noise similar to one produced by an earthquake and can cause nausea, sickness, and vertigo – exactly the sort of ambiance you need when you're watching a man's head get pulped like a grapefruit.”

This actually reminds me...I need to re-watch the Exorcist (personal top 5 film btw) and read into the production.

I can remember when I watched it the first time, certain images seemed to be stuck in my subconscious for a few days, felt very strange. I'm curious if one or more effects (visual or aural) were intentionally used, kinda like what you described.

That might also be one of the covert reasons why people went so crazy over it back in the day

wish I could have movie nights with directors or actors or actual film enthusiasts. The GF only likes chick flicks and Disney movies.

anytime she watches real films with me, I’m bewildered by the acting, the technical camera work, director trademarks, etc and she just sits there mute.

would love to chop it up with Fincher or Tarantino in some sort of watch party. I have so many questions

I could see it a million times, that meme is correct, I am on the verge of crying at the Fast 7 ending every time, it doesn’t make sense that it brings it out of me but <3

Rewatchables just did 8MM with Nic Cage and Joaquin Phoenix, has a 21% critics and 52% audience. Worth a shot?

Saw it for the first time a few months ago.

If you like cheesy 90s action thrillers and Nic Cage you'll absolutely love it.

If not stay clear.

Movie has a lot of recognizable faces.

Got an Enter the Dragon viewing in, not really tired so might rewatching Running Scared with Paul Walker. Haven't watched this one since I first saw it but remember really liking it.

Weekend at Bernie's - had only seen bits/pieces of scenes and finally watched in its entirety, thoroughly enjoyed the movie

I just watched episode 4 of How to With John Wilson "How To Cover Your Furniture". I think I'm traumatized ☹

Has anyone seen Alien Covenant? Is it worth a watch?

I am kinda in the position where I can watch the well-received Alien moves (Alien, Aliens, and Prometheus) and now I am considering watching the other 3.

But I heard Alien Covenant doesn't even pick up where Prometheus left off and it sounds like just another generic monster movie.

Why?

I've watched all eps and only thing I can think of is the wild ways he manages to include gratuitous scenes and male penises in his show out of the blue. Unless that cat scratching up furniture really bothered you.
