We had the (spiritual) sequel with Booksmart. Judd getting jealous of Olivia's shine or something?

I really love the whole thing, it did all the school scenes perfectly, and also got the “being 18-22 and knowing like one person at the party, how did I wind up in this” real well. And then the HS party afterward.

But you don’t bring alcohol for the whole party, even with everyone being underage and needing that connect, it’s every man and woman for themselves or just those you came to the party with, like that part was unrealistic.

I mean one movie literally had nothing to do with the other.

And I recall ppl calling it the female version of Superbad even though it wasn’t anywhere near as popular or successful.

Doubt Apatow is jealous of Wilde.

Spiritual. As in Olivia leaned HEAVY into similar themes and humor. Not in that they're connected in any real way. If you don't get "girl Superbad" feelings when watching Booksmart, then idk.

That Firestarter movie must suck, no RT score on Thursday. Seeing Doctor Strange MOM tomorrow.

In that case, I don’t get the use of the word sequel.

They’re very alike but I only get the vibe that it’s the girl version of Superbad. Not that it’s the successor of it.

Compared to something like Cloverfield and it’s spiritual sequel 10 Cloverfield Lane.

The Seth and Evan parts of the last 1/3 or Superbad are meh, but the McLovin and cops scenes are great.

You're just taking my words too literal. Like Apatow being jealous of Wilde. I was being facetious. In no world would he have anything to be jealous of.
