Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Do any of you take RT ratings serious?

Is so, critiques or audience?

If not, is there one you guys fo by?

I only pay attention to RT ratings if I’m wavering on watching in theater or not.

My holy grail of everything movie related is IMDB. Their rating system is spot on to my tastes. I usually don’t read the actual written reviews because it’s NT extremes. The movie is either 10/10 or 1/10 with no in between :lol

But yeah IMDb top 250 or bust. Been that way since 04’ for me.

too bad they removed the IMDB thread section. I was a frequent visitor there. I guess they had to remove it when those Breaking Bad nutjob fans started hijacking the forum about their drug addiction.

Yeah that thread section was ultra informative. I wouldn’t have been able to understand a lot of movies unless I read some of those threads.

It got canceled like 3 months into the Trump presidency I feel. Like all the other websites that had comment sections. Didn’t espn used to have wild comment sections?

I honestly just watch anything that seems interesting or entertaining to me. I rage note of what I see on the internet opinion wise but I don’t really seek reviews for reference.

The reason I'm asking is because I finished "Uncharted" and thought it was trashed.

Then I go into RT and see that it has 90% rating. IMBD has a 6.4/10 which is above avg.

75% of Google users like it ..

So why I found it to he a snooze fest trash movie?

maybe it's not your preference. most people like the Batman like it's amazing. I find it meh.

I lean towards critic score for certain films and audience for other.

Both signal something different about a movie whether I've seen the trailer or have an idea of the film.

Only read reviews if the movie is that controversial or if they'll be that funny.

In honor of the theme of Stranger Things 4, and in solidarity with Pride month, I guess I'll re-watch NOES 2, which I haven't seen in at least 20 years.

I've never watched it through THAT lense, so I'm sure it's gonna be a trip

My wife and her friend went last week to a local theater to watch it. They came back raving and said it was queer AF! Hopefully you dig it too

Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 - 6/8

All jokes aside, this movie is A LOT better than I remember. I used to think that New Nightmare was the only worthwhile sequel, but I may prefer this one. Other than the pool scene at the end that basically poo-poos on the entire tone of the film...I guess the studio wanted more mayhem? Oh yeah, and the main actress favors (a younger version) of Meryl Streep.

Horror sequels typically get a bad rap - I'll probably watch a few more just for the heck of it.

I hear that Jesus himself makes an appearance in the Omen III

Never cared for the apes movies but w/e.

Wasn't aware of Harbinger or who these directors are anyway to be hyped or disappointed.

loved the Dream Warriors and Freddy's Dead sequels. the others were fine as well. honestly, I prefer the Nightmare sequels compared to any long horror sequels we've had for the past 20 years. Paranormal b.s, Saw, Texas Chainsaw, Insidious, Purge, Conjuring.
