Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Didn't know Gene Hackman was supposed to play Sgt Powell in Die Hard. And Wesley Snipes also auditioned right before VelJohnson. I can see them both playing that role. Woulda been interesting to see Snipes in Die Hard tho.

And didn't know Jaleel White was "difficult to work with." Is that why he hasn't had much work over the years?

Its weird and funny but I get it.

Family Matters originally was not the Steve Urkel show. There were way more storylines for Carl and the aunt and the mother.

Urkel took over. That must've gave fam a huge ego. Never saw him going to movies though.

I remember being little and on Fridays people saying "you watching Urkel tonight?" like it was the Urkel Show.

Was never my favorite character though. His shtick got tired fast. Carl lowkey still funny to me to this day.

I had some interraction with Jaleel White when I was in high school at a SAT prep class. This would have been in 93 or 94, so the show was still on the air.

I recall getting the impression he was very full of himself, but funnily enough if was more about basketball related stuff than his acting. Did a lot of name dropping of prominent high school players from the area at the time, coaches too. He also said he thought college was going to be a waste of his time and he wouldn't really learn anything, but he knew he had to do it for the degree.

“Look. Over in that house is a kid who thinks you are the greatest and it’s not because you’re a Space Ranger pal. It’s because you’re a toy. You are his toy.”

“But why would Andy want me?”

“Why would Andy want you? Look at you! You’re a Buzz Lightyear! Any other toy would give up his moving parts just to be you. You got wings! You glow in the dark! You talk! Your helmet does that that that whoosh thing! You are a cool toy!”

Watched this the other day. Terrible movie. But Jessica Biel.

There was one MTV’s Rock n Jock that he was on and everyone was surprised he could ball.

So did I LOL. Isn’t it cool how that happens sometimes?

I think in this case maybe because Tom Hanks has that distinct voice, plus he’s a good actor so that great delivery is there, and in addition to that the scene is kind of memorable maybe? (I think) lol

I learned today that Police Academy (1), which I consider a very American film, was filmed almost entirely in Canada. The more you know…

I finally did it. I finally got around to watching Almost Famous. :hat

Absolutely loved it. I never thought this movie was for me and yet I enjoyed every second. I immediately went to IMDB to pick up lil tidbits I might have missed. My fav part, every single female in Hollywood wanted the role of Penny. :lol

LOVED Kate, but Sarah Polley was close to getting it, and I love me some SP. Kate nailed it tho.

7.5/8

Going to get it on Blu Ray now.

This is a highly enjoyable movie. Crowe is on the nose sometimes but when it hits it hits.
