Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Most watched movie for you all?
It's not close for me: Elf.

Actually close is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Both are because my son cracks up at both of them and has for years. Ironically, I thought both of them were the stupidest thing I had ever seen when I first saw them. Now I absolutely love them and will never say no. Ever.

Aside form those 2:
- Good Will Hunting
- Forrest Gump
- Antwone Fisher
- Tombstone
- Shawshank Redemption

I've seen The Prestige twice in the last 9 days, and I already can't wait for a 3rd watch. I can see this one climbing my own Most Watched ladder very quickly.

I was a fan of her in House of Gucci so I would not mind seeing more of her work and I have been told I need to watch A Star is Born but the plot seems too depressing |l
It's not depressing at all. It's super not depressing. Very happy and positive.

Bbbbbuuuuut some of my favorite movies are Precious, Silver Linings Playbook, and The Prestige, ssssoooo...

Maybe don't let me lie to you on that first line. :emoji_grimacing: :emoji_grimacing: :emoji_grimacing: :emoji_grimacing:

Out of the Furnace is so well done and has an amazing cast. I love the grittiness they capture of the rust belt town.

Christian Bale and Woody absolutely kill it. The rest of the supporting cast is great too. That scene between Bale and Zoe Saldana reminded me of the scene between Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams in Manchester by the Seas.

Most watched movie for you all?
That’s a tough one because there’s some movies I’ve been watching over and over since I was a kid. I’m in the 100s on probably all of these:

Goonies
The Princess Bride
Beverly Hills Cop 1
The Last Dragon
Raiders of the Last Ark
The entire OG Star Wars trilogy
Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure

More recently -

Anchorman
There’s Something About Mary
Aliens
Old School

I bet I'm probably still missing some, but this should be close enough.

Bad Boys 2
The Martian
John Wick
Pitch Perfect
Point Break
40 Year Old Virgin
Armageddon
Battleship
Erin Brockovich
Aliens
True Lies
Casino Royale
Man of Steel
Lethal Weapon 2
Enemy of the State
Die Hard
Jurassic Park
There’s Something About Mary

I have to add Ghostbusters and Stripes to my list.

Watched Stripes a lot during my junior high years because boobies.

Most watched movie for you all?

For a very long time I would put on either wedding crashers or bad boys 2 on my DVD player in my room and just watch it on a loop for days at a time. All together I probably watch bad boys too 150 times

Friday After Next. The first Friday is better….but idk why Friday After Next resonates with me so much. I guess cause it’s such an easy watch, and the introduction of new characters (Money Mike & Damon) who stole the show….and who would eventually use Friday as a springboard to launch massive careers of their own. Kat Williams, Terry Crews etc.

I legit watch this at least 2X a year. Cracks me up every time. Never gets old.

Another movie I’ve seen a million times is Last Action Hero, for whatever reason :lol. I think in my mind, I was the black version of that kid.

Good list. Great idea. Here is mine, off the top of my head. I’m leaving out a whole bunch of 90s black movies (which were GREAT…but the whole genre I could’ve listed) :lol

MALCOM X MOVIE
DEAD PRESIDENTS (LOVE….LOVE THIS)
Superbad
Basic Instinct
Friday Series
3 Ninjas
Goodfellas
The Game
Disclosure
Hoop Dreams
Space Jam
City of God
Training Day
Crooklyn
He Got Game
Last Action Hero
Home Alone 2
Prometheus
Catch Me If You Can
My Girl
Gangs of New York

Coming of Age Movies, Stoner Comedies, Gangster Movies, Black Movies, SciFi and Thrillers. I love Epics too, but can’t think of any off the top of my head. Denzel & Michael Douglas are the best to do it, to me.

When the Frat Pack had it rollin, they had it rollin. You Me & Dupree.

Wedding Crashers & Step Brothers will get watched every time. Kicking and Screaming underrated too. Know that movie like the back of my hand

And the TBS/TNT/USA movies I’ve watched a million times. So shoutout to Tremors, Problem Child, Double Dragon, Surf Ninjas Etc.
