Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Took it back to a good old 3 movie day. Low key proud of myself cuz I didn't even come close to falling asleep once but that's more of a washed thread feat.

Cocaine Bear 5.8/8

Entertainment wise this was great. Story was solid. It was paced and flowed well. Banks really gets to show her talent and skill as a director here. I thought it might've been too much with how many characters were being introduced but she managed it well and the movies shines particularly for being an ensemble flick.

Probably will go unsaid but I'll say it, Cocaine Bear is a modern day classic. Had this came out in the 90s it would've been a huge hit. Just really had all those elements of being a blockbuster.

What a last movie for Ray Liotta :hat

QuANTuMANia

Maaaaan the first hour of this movie was just pure amazing set up. When we talk about comparisons this had a heavy Star Wars feel (half the Quantum realm beings looked like Tusken Raiders plus that 3rd act with all the freedom fighters looked like what they tried to do in the Rise of Skywalker), a dash of Indiana Jones ( everything with Scott), and the right amount of color and style like GotG.

Janet's whole subplot was great and mad interesting. Basically drove the entire movie.

Plus the whole thing was so sci-fi 🔥

Movie had the right amount of humor (something I wish James Gunn would learn from). I laughed damn near every time MODOK revealed his face :lol and I'm not surprised even character growth wise. This ***** Darren turned insane :rollin :rollin :rollin Son said Scott was always a brother to him and at least he dies an Avenger :rollin Kang ****** dude all up.

I only had a few cons like Douglas kinda coasting the whole movie but Michelle made up for that. Hope didn't have a huge role either. I also wish when Kang was selling his deal to Lang that he illustrated more with his powers how he could send Scott back to after the blip to spend those 5 years with Cassie growing up. Same when he made the offer to Janet for Hope. They also could've expanded more on the ppl/culture of the Quantum realm. Not clear how things were ran before Kang. Seems like half Microverse half other dimensions/alien cultures marvel comics have done in other stories.

That ending narration by Scott was so damn ominous. Didn't even have to tease anything else. His own worrying mind worked out that this isn't over and probably will get worse. Him questioning if Kang is gone/dead just let me know he is alive and that council is also wrong to assume he is dead.

I assume the thing that is worse is The Beyonder and will probably take center stage after all of the council of Kangs are beaten in Kang Dynasty with Secret Wars.

This is pretty much the best I could expect from an Ant-Man movies. It was different than the last two movies in a better way. Watched it twice. Majors was great and j look forward for the next 10 years of his Kang performances.

6.2/8

He got me :{ He got me again:{ Shame on me for trying it and falling for it.

M. Night Shamadamadingdong's Knock At The Cabin :| :{

What a waste of time. What could've been a compelling story is squandered by not committing enough to the premise and fulfilling what makes the whole plot interesting. Just too many plot holes and unasked questions or no follow up questions and a ton of weak answers.

This was way worse than Old.

Wasted Bautista performance imo.

Should've went home after seeing Ant-Man.

3.5/8

Finished the first 3 episodes. WTF they do to Ron Swanson?!? :smh:

This show makes crazy moves. Sarah in ep1... I jumped outta my chair. They went with the Scream 1 into vibes x 1000. Then Tess in ep2. I thought there's no way. They invested a lot into these characters in the first half of both episodes. Then the Ron Swanson thing lol. This show is ALL left field outcomes.
I admit the Ron Swanson part wasn't my favorite although found it necessary. 2 people left in the world with no woman. sounds more like guys in prison, you get the point. other than that, I'm glad they didn't focus too much about it, especially the sexual part but rather focused more about the need for someone, relationship, friendship, trust and sense of purpose. this is what I liked about it unlike other shows that have certain themes elaborating more on such matter.

Just watched with the kids-

How y’all feel about Bladerunner 2049?

Started it last night (smacked 🌳💨). But it looked incredible. Never got around to fully watching the OG. Imma spark 2049 up again. Would y’all recommend really watching the OG, before diving in to the new one?

I would recommend it. I don’t think I’d call it essential to really enjoying 2049, but it will add something. Plus, it’s a great movie in its own right. If you watch the OG, try to find the Director’s Cut.

OG is definitely worth watching first. Both are great and the visuals are great in them

YES !

$23 Million for Coke Bear this weekend. Only cost $35 Million to make. Going to be very profitable.

Ant-Man 3 saw the 2nd biggest second week drop off in box office ever for a MCU film. I don’t know I believe the “Marvel is dead” talk yet, but I think there’s evidence that some MCU fatigue is finally setting in for a least a segment of folks.

Keep meaning to get to this one

Now how tf am I supposed to say THAT Ruth's last name to somebody out loud? 🤦‍♂️

'You ever seen Passing? With Tessa Thompson and Ruth... you know Ruth... uuuuhhh... it's Tessa and Ruth, man. Passing. You ever seen it?'

(Don't read too much into that. I'm not serious, and it's not that serious.)

If you are a fan of Marrisa Tomei and have not seen Slums of Beverly Hills, I highly recommend it. She shows a lot in that movie. It’s also just good all they way around. Quirky. But good.
