Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Finally caught Deadpool and Wolverine last night.

I was prepared for the over-the-top meta-ness of it and still found it a bit much at times. Highly enjoyable though just for the nuttiness of it all, especially the music selections for the action scenes.

Also, I was offended that the movie put Blade in a group with Electra and Gambit. Disrespectful :smh:

6.25/8.

“You’re in need of a fantasy! Brave knights, mythical fairies, ferocious dragons!”

“Look, all I want is…”

“Adventure! Of course! You’re a boy who loves adventure, brimming with wicked demons, cutthroat pirates”

“No, no that’s not it”

“Horror! Oh, horror! Evil demons, wicked monsters, haunted houses, graveyards. Yes, it’s horror for you, boy. I’m sure of it.”

“Your library card, please.”

“I don’t have one”

Anybody as excited about this as I am? Ken Burns is the undisputed GOAT documentarian.

On the music biopic subject, British singer Robbie Williams has a semi-autobiographical one titled Better Man. Best part is his role will by a cgi chimpanzee.

I see the mixed reviews, but I got the AMC pass so going tonight to Gladiator in Dolby...wanted to see it in imax, but it doesn't play in imax until 11 and I'm way too old for that ****... Gladiator, Wicked, and now Moana 2 are all alternating show times on 1 imax screen

I knew Wicked was split into two parts because I read something about it. At the theater today, a lot were surprised it was only part one. I don't remember the trailers mention

Moana 2 with average reviews, still will see it but the vibe is this movie didn't need to be made and is basically a TV show quality put into a show

Gladiator 2 was definitely entertaining enough. For sure seemed like a generic story line, but it was tolerable. Don't get why people were saying it's a snooze fest etc...Denzel killed it...

The CGI water in the opening scene looked so horrible and fake as hell though

Singing in the theaters, are ya ok with that? That is the talk with Wicked out
The showing I was at didn't have it

Dolby is my preferred method. Dolby is my shiiii

Amc got nicole kidman giving explicit warnings and deterrents against cell phones, talking and singing. It was quiet in my theater on thursday.

MFers will trash M. Night for low quality, acting bewildered that he keeps doing the damn thing... then pay real money to go see The Rock or Jack Black.

Saw they did Running Scared (86' version with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines) on Rewatchables so decided to watch for the first time last night. Very entertaining buddy cop flick where the leads actually are friends in the start instead of the classic formula where they are adversaries at first and become buddies as the film goes on. You even get appearances by Joey Pants, Jimmy Smits and Uncle Rico. I kind of see why this one is overlooked as opposed to classics like 48 Hours and the Lethal Weapon series though.

Also, it seemed like Gregory Hines should have had a bigger career as an actor, what happened?
