Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Not that I really give a **** or anything, but where's KLJ???

Someone should go over to sneakertalk or PM dude or something and give him a helping hand if he's lost. Don't think that should be the case though.

I actually more was hoping for Vince Vaughn to recapture some of his old magic and for the "new guy" to get me rolling.

Movie was garbage.

Damn, I had high hopes for The Watch. Wasn't expecting it to be a 'must-see now' quality movie, but at least something worth downloading and maybe buying.

I saw it a 2nd time.. the IMAX was better because instead of a sold out theater, there were plenty of seats so the sound was outrageous. I could feel the bass in the chair and my chest during the action scenes.

It didn't have the same emotional payoff (particularly the last ten minutes) as the 1st time, but I think going to the marathon played a factor. I still loved it and kept a lot of the complaints in mind that people had and I don't agree with most. Considering the length of the movie, Nolan should have done a better job with the exposition and showing rather than telling. So too many moving parts was a problem, but I think everything they incorporated was important so I'm glad they did it.. even if it could/should have been smoother. As for the "plot holes" or huge leaps in logic people claimed.. I'm not buying it.

The 2nd go around my favorite moments had to be when Bane put his hand on Daggett and asked if he felt in charge now.. and just thinking "that was awesome and a little terrifying".

Just watched Rocky 2. Critics were right in that it was just a remake of the first one :lol Still good but overall I never saw the greatness in the movies. I understand any nostalgia and how it hits the key points of an underdog story but it rarely grabs me as a much watch for it being a classic.

Finally saw 'it' yesterday.

Loved the ending.

Trying to find the full 'speech' Blake gave Bruce Wayne when he told him he knew exactly who he was the first time he saw Bruce, because he knows a guy hiding something when he sees one, but none of my keywords in a google search are producing that speech.

So for this production crew, it's over, right? They signed on from the beginning to do these 3 then call it, right? So if there is another installment in the future, it won't be this crew, Bale won't be Batman, this era of Batman is complete, right?

TDK > TDKR > Begins

"Not a lot of people know what it feels like to be angry, in your bones. I mean, they understand... foster parents.. everybody understands - for awhile. Then they want the angry little kid to do something he knows he can't do: move on. So after awhile they stop understanding. They send the angry kid to a boys home. I figured it out too late. You gotta learn to hide the anger, practice smiling in the mirror. It's like putting on a mask."

And this is it for this cast, however, they didn't sign up for 3 from jump, they one by oned this. They just kept bringing everyone back together, but Nolan claims he never had a trilogy in mind, ala Lucas with Star Wars.

As for Godfather, if you ranked the movies, Godfather II, Godfather, TDK, TDKR, BB,.....................................Godfather III It depends on how you view that third film. TDK series has no flaws, has no holes, no weaknesses, whereas Godfather has an abortion for a movie within it's trilogy.

MrO, you mentioned the Prestige being in the running for better than anything in the Dark Knight trilogy. Um, what? I'm totally willing to give Inception that kind of praise. And I did like Prestige, but seriously, better than TDK????? Naw, stall all that. Hell, Memento is better than Prestige imo, and even Memento isn't gonna surpass any of the Bat 3.

Watched Step Up 4 with my daughter this weekend, ugh, things we do for kids, but ya know, it's not half bad I guess for the intended audience. And hey, I learned something, bikini's in 3D work well. In South Beach no less. What'dya know? :lol

Breaking is getting intense already. But I missed the last line, what had Jesse sittin at the door like that, what is it Walt said that caught Jesse like that?

Heat of the moment? No actor in any Nolan film has anything on Heath Ledger in TDK. That I get. But outside of that, I like The Prestige better than TDK. Not by a ton, but by enough. And yeah, I would add Memento too, but that's one of those "I gotta cut out 2 hours of straight focus to watch this again, because this deserves it" type of movies, so I haven't watched it in like 5 or 6 years. :lol

TDK series has no flaws, has no holes, no weaknesses
8o cmon son.

Might check for TDKR again in IMAX today, though.

Damn, you dead on with that, I was thinkin this morning that I have not sat back down for Memento in YEARS. And I have almost completely forgotten the entire film, I need to watch that again for the first time.

But you all are confusing me. I liked Prestige, it was good, but now it's not only better than the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception can't even get past it? Whaaaa? :\ Who was so memorable in that film that has everyone still buzzed off it?

O, in terms of flawless, etc, I'm talkin characters, acting, cast all put together. We can make fun of Bat's voice, or strange costumes, or whatever, but in terms of Morgan, Oldman, Joker, Bane, Bat, Cat, Blake, Wilkinson, Scarecrow, Liam Neeson, everyone short of the Rachel Dawes character(s) were brilliant. Acting wise, cast wise, action, drama, suspense, visually, you're talkin about 3 movies in a series that could all earn 9's. Am I wrong? You have any of those flicks lower than a 9?

God damn, look at that list again. Morgan, Oldman, Wilk, Liam, Bale, Hardy, JGL, Anne, Maggie, Scarecrow, Alfred, Rutger Hauer, look at this God damn cast. :eek :hat All for a comic book movie. :lol Nolan been ******** on all the rest of these studios. Straight dookie.

I might need to Nolan out sometime soon and do Memento and Prestige again, I'm not seein what ya'll are seein right now. I'm down with Inception, and remember Memento being just an incredibly well done film, I think I will get in with that, but Prestige I watched like last year, and I don't have it like that.

Hol up...now Scarecrow is in the pantheon and TDKR still getting a pass?
I'll reserve judgment until I see the last one again. :lol

the prestige may definitley be a better movie than TDK. The prestige is fantastic. That 2nd viewing blew my mind. the prestige is much bette rthan inception. sure inception had the visuals and some amazing scenes but the movie is too convoluted and messy

don't forget about memento

nolan is a beastttt

and cmon CP there were a few flaws here and there in the trilogy. it isn't perfect.

I dunno if its better than star wars or what. dont care. its an all time classic trilogy

Insomnia is so underrated. Don't think it's better than Memento and The Prestige of course, but it never even gets MENTIONED when Nolan's name gets brought up. Robin Williams as a bad guy. :x:smokin:eek

Higher rating than both Memento and The Prestige on RT. *shrugs*

[/quote]Props. :smokin That's staying on my FB status for a MINUTE.

I'm sayin that if Cilian Murphy/Scarecrow is your 10th best actor/character in a trilogy, you next level. Feel me? I didn't say he sits rushmore or nothin, but if he tenth, (oh and uh, btw, I ain't even mention Marion C yet neither ;) ) I'm sayin it's a DEEP cast Nolan dropped in this universe of Bat.
And what you mean, TDKR getsa pass? Pass for what dude?

I watched it a second time this weekend, still gives me chills and I know that it's not even the same level as OG TDK. Joker was so unreal, but Bane is no damn slouch. Hardy was possibly just as good, but with a mask in the middle of his face.

Insomnia was solid, good mention, Robin Will as the baddie was NICE, but Pacino sort of cured that insomnia for me. He was boring me to sleep in that flick. :lol Sorry for all the puns.

Dub, I would love to see a list of flaws, outside Rachel Dawes.

Holy @#$% I haven't even mentioned Aaron Eckhart yet in this deep cast!!!!!! :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin Come on. He and Scarecrow sittin on the end of the bench in terms of performances, characters, etc, Cilian and Aaron. That's the level of talent Nolan worked with these 3 movies. Hugh Jackman was the #2 in Prestige, and not as Wolverine. Talk to me. :lol

For some reason when I went to the movie the second time high I could understand EVERY word Bane was saying? :lol

You know that extra focus, when you're ****** up. :lol
It's like blind people with smelling.

Never seen Insomnia and you shouldn't mention Marion C... :{

According to CP's logic, the Harry Potter films are God's gift to humanity.
