Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I want him to do a film with Steve Buscemi (again) and Christopher Walken. Of course Harvey Keitel and Samuel L. will be in it as well. Have a new female lead instead of Uma. Work some magic with Olivia Wilde or Natalie Portman/Keira Knightley/

Real talk if I met him, I'd tell him he only had 3 good movies so he had to make more :lol Tell him Grindhouse, Four Rooms, My Best Friend's Birthday, etc. sucked balls.

Kill Bill

Kill Bill 2

Pulp Fiction

Inglorious Basterds

Reservoir Dogs

Django

That'd be six... But I don't love Jackie Brown like a lot of people did.

He should get credit for True Romance as well. Jackie B is solid, but agree that its lesser than all his other work.

Would love to see him work with Wilde, but not Portman, I don't want to subject her to that. :lol

And Death Proof was fantastic, ya'll sleepin.

Have we ever talked about Beginners in here?
Definitely one of the best of the past two years for me.

I don't remember it being discussed and I don't know much about it,. but I have noticed its been showing on HBO lately. I'll be sure and check it out now, based on your recommendation. I guess I should have watched it last night instead of watching Anchorman for probably the 50th time.

Little help? Name doesn't ring a bell.

(skip this next part Kev)

Ummm, that Supes trailer........ I iz excite. :eek

Holy ******g **** at that trailer, please GOD let that not be the best 2 and a half minutes of the movie, let the whole movie be like that. You can ALREADY see Snyder all up thru that. The red boot in the snow, the cape flowing, the guards with their guns drawn and all you see is his boot, stop, and pivot. :eek :eek :eek

The quick flash of Zod, the quick flash of Crowe, his struggle as a little guy, his Matrix rip off bend then leap (why are we copying the Matrix, who was copying Superman at the time? Huh? )

I feel MUCH better about our chances now, please let this movie live up to the trailer, do not Godzilla me, I couldn't take that.

I finally caught that a little while back. I think I put off watching it because I was pretty sure most of the movie was in French, and rare is the moment when you're willing to give full 'read the subtitles' attention to some movie you're not sure you'll even like. ....Even though I had no reason to believe that and Melanie Laurent was the only French person I knew was in it. :lol

She's great in this. Not as good as Ewan or Plummer, but still, you just love her. The quirks of the storytelling, were so strong. It almost felt like Eternal Sunshine without the mind erasing. They didn't use Melanie like I thought they would, though. The whole movie's solely in Ewan's perspective so she's kind of just there a lot of the time. And she's not in the movie as much as you'd expect, to the point where sometimes it feels like she's just his imaginary friend that he made up to help him cope with what's happening with his dad.

I really liked it though.

Kinda mad at myself that I skipped it when we were doing the NT Awards. B+

Superman doesn't look terrible or boring, so the best non-Batman superhero movie DC's made in years...decades?

It at least looks better than Amazing Spider-man. :\

Man of Steel trailer is the best one of 2012 after Iron Man 3.

Also, I watched The Intouchables last night. What an amazingly beautiful and funny film. I think it's better than Amour and it's 50/50 for Best Foreign Film

Don't forget the Rock in GI Joe 2, and Marky Mark in Transformers 4. :lol

That Arnold one is a directv to video movie if I ever saw one. :{

I need to see Beginners again, because I agree.. definitely one of the best/favorites in recent memory.

And Death Proof was fantastic, ya'll sleepin.
Death Proof is excellent.
Unfortunately, the Grindhouse gimmick stained its perception a little.

Had to step into the sneakertalk sewer for these. :{

Man, I love Death Proof. It's on right now.
The most rewatchable Tarantino after Reservoir Dogs to me.

'I'm OK.' :lol every time. :smokin

I dunno what it is. I mean I know how great the others are, but I can only watch em so many times? Believe me, I've tried.

But Death Proof...every time it's on, I get hyped. I mean I get why people hate it, but that movie never gets old to me.
There's always a new way to watch it and each way's on point. And the casting is great.
And I love that ending.

Death Proof? DEATH PROOF?

Not Pulp Fiction. Not Kill Bill. Not Inglorious Basterds.

Is it because it's short and can be watched quick? The mindlessness factor? What is it? I need answers here. Ugh. Different strokes I guess. At least you're not ska, and have actually seen QT movies though.

:lol

This will contain spoilers folks, if you have NOT seen Death Proof, do not read.

Man, the director introduced you to 4 main characters. Here you go. 4 chicks, here's the movie, follow them, we doin this, this is the movie

Boom, kills them.

Here's 4 more chicks, same movie, movin forward, let's go, here's the movie, drive car, drive car, drive car, jump, the end.

And IT'S SEAMLESS.

Movie flows PERFECTLY. You ain't even realize it. You watchin that car chase scene with Rosario and you completely forgot, the main chicks already been killed off. You forget all about it. The director killed his whole cast, minus one guy, and the movie is seamless into the second half.

Do you all realize what kind of crazy talent that is? That **** was GOLDEN.

Use the spoiler function. The first sentence serving as a warning isn't the same thing.

**** man, some dude out here shooting up a mall during Christmas time with a semi auto rifle. :{

People gotta stop this garbage. We don't live in Beruit, damn. |I
