....you're right.

Hey iYen, check out John Woo's Red Cliff parts I & II as well as the The Forbidden Kingdom also...

I was picking my brain about possible some action/thriller/crime movies I don't think that have been mentioned lately & I came up with Green Zone (Matt Damon), Michael Mann's Public Enemies (with Johnny Depp & Christian Bale), the 3:10 to Yuma remake with Russell Crowe & Christian Bale, & Ridley Scott's Body of Lies with DiCaprio....
Thanks for the suggestions.

I've seen Body of Lies. It was alright.

Red band trailer is out for Rapturepalooza, starring Anna Kendrick and Craig Robinson (as the anti-christ)

I can see if I'm in the right frame of mind, it will be hilariously stupid... and if not, I probably won't like it other than Anna Kendrick.

Some of these may have been mentioned recently; Salt, Drive, Wanted, & Hot Fuzz. I'm assuming you saw the mega blockbusters like the Batman movies, the Bourne Movies (with Matt Damon), Inception, The Town, right?
Seent: Wanted(will watch again), Drive(liked soundtrack), and all the other movies you mentioned except Bourne Legacy.

Have you seen the new Bourne?

I liked Shaun of the Dead so I'm assuming that I'll like Hot Fuzz.

Lastly, I have salt on my to-watch list.

What's on your guys' to-watch lists?

My to-watch list is so big that I don't think that I'll be able to watch everything on it before I die.

All I know is my Netflix DVD queue is 175 and my Instant is around 150, so I always have something to watch.

Right now I'm on a Woody Allen kick so I'll be going through a lot of his movies I haven't seen yet.

I miss living at my old apartment during college. Mail would come in the morning. So days I didn't have class or just morning classes, I could watch Netflix movies and send them back the same day since the post office was right next to my house. I was crushing movies that summer.

My to-watch list is huge and I'm disappointed in myself with it. I'm thinking about signing up for the Blockbuster at home thing to rent 2 discs at once because I'm alos behind on some games.

What's on your guys' to-watch lists?

Now I'm not 100% sure what this means...

Q: Are there other characters that Marvel has that you have an affinity for? A lot of us are wondering when maybe Marvel might make an R-rated movie and that might be where you could use some of the “blue material.” I’m just curious if you have an affinity for other characters.

Shane Black: I don’t know I always thought that certain characters could be adapted in a cool way. I wanted to do -- Quentin Tarantino kind of poisoned the well with "Django" -- but I always thought there was a 1970’s version of “Black Panther,” which was period that could be really cool and involved a lot of the racial tensions of that time. That’s not going to happen. Other Marvel movies that I really loved, or marvel comics growing up, God, mostly just the typical ones. “Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.” the [Jim] Steranko years. But you can’t do them because Sam Jackson is 60 years old and he plays this sort of patriarchal figure now, but Nick Fury was what I adored growing up. If you ever read the ones Steranko did for “Tales of Suspense” followed by “Nick Fury” standalone 1-8, some of the best comics ever made.

But I think he's saying Django soaked up the need for a black hero fighting old school racial tension in a film? 8o :| :{

Def watch Perks of being a wallflower surprisingly great

Paperboy, seven psychopaths, john dies at the end were all horrible in my eyes

Holy motors will be the weirdest film u EVER see so be careful and keep and open mind

Weird, I was just listening to a commentary on Halloween III with Tom Atkins, and they were talking about Shane Black and how Tom Atkins eventually got involved with Lethal Weapon...

And Shane Black is now directing Iron Man 3... Huh.

Weird, I could have sworn that Jon Favreau was doing it, guess I was imagining things.

Also, Dexter is looking like it's officially ending after this season. I'm glad. After last season's finale, you can't drag this out too long without it getting stale. Let it end.

Was Halloween III the one that didn't have Michael Meyers in it or was that IV?

Yeah, Halloween III: Season of the Witch was John Carpenter's attempt to get away from the Michael Myers stigma.

He didn't direct, but he was involved enough as producer along with Deborah Hill to alter the direction of the series.

After Halloween III bombed, rights to the franchise went back to Akkad and Yablans, who reverted the series back to Michael Myers-centric.

Carpenter wanted to have annual/semi-annual Halloween films based on the theme of Halloween, but it was a critical and financial flop. Eventually he wanted to have an anthology kind of film franchise, similar to what Trick 'R Treat was.

It was a good concept at the time, it's just unfortunate it was hindered by the title Halloween.

All Halloween films have had Michael Myers in it except for part III, though **** Warlock who played Myers in H2 was in it, and there's two scenes where the original Halloween is showed. :lol

EDIT: Halloween IV's subtitle was "The Return of Michael Myers," and focused on the niece of Myers.

Although John Carpenter only directed the original Halloween, he had quite a bit of creative control of the next two films. He was involved heavily with the script of Halloween III. The first three films were made by a lot of the same people, and so they all have a similar atmosphere to them. Dean Cundey was the cinematographer for most of JC's early career and did the first three Halloween films. All three were a family affair, but they all went their separate ways after Halloween 3.

Saw Apollo 18 last week. It's definitely worth a rental if you like a slow-burn horror film. It's very respectful of it's roots, which lie both in science fiction, astronomy, and horror. There's never too much of a revelation, but it's well made.
