Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Yea, that looks like a poster for Transformers: Beast Wars. :lol
Loved that movie.

That was like the first, great black and white movie I ever saw.
Opened my eyes that I should give some of them a shot.

Word? I watching any and everything...maybe because I'm a film student. Will come back and let you know what I think.

the place beyond the pines**

and yes, I really enjoyed it.

except Cooper's 'son' in the movie really annoyed me, his whole fake 'gangsta' persona and just his actions in general. DeHaan was pretty damn good though. Gosling, Cooper, Mendelsohn all killed it. Eva was decent as well.

Just watched The Town for the second time.

Awesome movie.

has anyone seen gi joe (new one)? i heard it was whack.

it was ok. movies here are like 5 bucks regular 8 bucks 3d so it was worth it to me.

was :{ when they blurred lady jaye out taking her clothes off

you will be ok if you go in not expecting much and remembering that its more of a teenage mutant ninja turtles og movie and not the dark knight type of spin on a comic book movie

Chloe might be one of my favorite characters of the show.

She brings the lulz

My friend is trying to convince me to watch HOUSE. I've never been interested in it and it seems kind of silly. Is it worth it?
I don't normally like procedurals. Like those cop, lawyer, hospital, firefighter shows on CBS or ABC or whatever. But this to me, was the best of that kind of show in the last 10 years. House is this *******, troll, genius doctor with a bum leg, that constantly pranks and trolls and plays mind games with everyone around him. The thing is, this was one of those rare shows where they build up someone to be smart as hell, and you don't feel like that's a copout. The people who wrote the show handled the clever so damn well. And Hugh Laurie probably should've won an Emmy. The dialogue was so good, the characters were so good and it just felt a step above the regular.

It does fall off after the 4th season. If it would've ended like season 5, it'd get more respect. People forget what the show was like, before they dumped the old cast for one-note, wooden people like Taub and Olivia Wilde. The OG cast was Omar Epps, the british dude and Capt. Kirk's mom from the Star Trek movie. But still, every season you could expect 4 of 5 amazing episodes. They could just build characters outta nothing, and there was a run when everyone and their moms wanted to guest star to be a patient on House.

For what it was and at least for the first few seasons, House was the smartest, best made regular TV show in a long while. I'd put the first 4 seasons up against almost anything on network TV in the 2000s. And the season premieres and finales of House were so damn good. The 4th season finale was on that imdb list of best TV episodes. That's not a mistake.

I don't wanna overhype it, cuz at the end of the day, it's just a doctor show. But it's not some Grey's Anatomy ****. And if you get into it, I wouldn't be surprised if you fiended through the first few seasons in the next few weeks. Cuz when it was hype, that's how everyone I knew was who caught on late.

Once you see Olivia Wilde, know that the hype is almost over, though.

I didn't give two damns about House, but after reading your insight I will add it to my Later to-watch list.

@rck2

When you post about 24, are you posting spoilers?

24 is the next show that I'll check out after the shield.

Everytime I see you post more than one smiley, I figure that you're posting about 24.

I'm asking because I don't want the same thing to happen like with the wire.

I'm not asking you to use spoilers, but I just need to be sure if I should avoid your posts or not.

I feel you dog.

I try to post things as vaguely as possible but I'll stop it.

Also, if you have other shows to watch, I'd watch them first.. I really don't think I like 24

How do you guys consume series? Do you feel that you have to watch one show before going onto the next?

I'm all over the place in terms of shows.

I'm currently or was currently watching the shield, boardwalk empire, oz, game of thrones, hajime no ippo new challenger, Durarara, Black Butler, Gurren Lagann, the walking dead, twd comic, hajime no ippo manga, and Band of Brothers.

I'm probably forgetting a few.

That's not including series that I've started and then put on hold such as The Sopranos.

I feel that sticking to one series just gets boring as hell.

If the series makes me want to use up my time to watch that, then that's what make the show ever better.

Series such as Spartacus, Breaking Bad, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

I'm not saying that you should stop. I was just curious about the content of your posts.

When I watch shows on Netflix or HBOGO, I knock them out one at a time.

And I guess to answer your OG question of the contents of my posts, compared to before (like when I watched The Wire) they aren't spoilerific in the sense that it gives up main plot points/deaths/specific events. Like I try to keep it as open ended and vague as I can.

The Pine Beyond The Woods was one of the best movies I've seen in theaters recently. It has a good story the entire way until the end. It has everything from those "aww" moments to those "aww SHlT" I was not expecting that.

Scary Movie 5 was so stupid. I ended up messing around in the theater half the time.

What the ****? :lol

You'd be surprised, but I really don't like binge watching. Once in a blue moon I will, but for the most part...ehhhh. I always end up watching 2 or 3 eps and I'm out. Drop it for a while, check a movie or sports or something instead of it, then come back, rinse/repeat. That's where I'm at with AHS: Asylum. :lol I'll admit though...I binged through the last season of Spartacus a couple days ago. Almost just said **** it and erased it all, but I'm glad I didn't.

But yeah...I think that's why I try to be early on TV shows. I don't like rewatching things or catching up, so I just try and get there when it starts to see if it's for me, and stay sorta up to date, cuz once I fall far back enough, I end up just chalking it up to, I don't really like this show. I'm looking at you, Dexter...and Archer...and Parks and Rec...and new Community...New Girl. 8o :lol

So I guess you could say I'm watching The Americans, Game of Thrones, Nathan for You, Hannibal, Southland (which is sucks to hear is probably getting canned), Happy Endings, Veep and The Good Wife right now. One ep a week is just about my limit most of the time. :lol

And I'm still only halfway through the last season of Louie AND Justified. :{ Gotta catch up on Venture Bros too. And I keep saying I'm gonna watch Spaced and Peep Show one day...One day. :lol I think that's everything.

edit: this I can binge on
