Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Well, Back To The Future was good. :lol But already dated. "Son why are you wearing a life preserver?" Today that almost would be viewed as a life preserver as well.

Christopher Lloyd is brilliant, Michael J. Fox is corny but probably not for the 80s :lol

And how does it happen that I've only seen this now? Well, I've got a notorious list of classics I"ve never seen.

The Godfather: Part II (and I don't hardly remember The Godfather)
Indiana Jones series
Casablanca
Animal House
E.T.
A Clockwork Orange
Terminators 1-3
Scream (any)
The Silence of the Lambs

The list just goes on.

Anyone else notice that bullies in kid movies are always redheads with freckles? What did they ever do to Hollywood?

If you guys liked Little Miss Sunshine, you should like Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris's next movie Ruby Sparks. Great movie, story, & great cast. Really nice follow-up to LMS...

Yeah I liked Ruby Sparks... I thought the idea and the performances were great, but the execution was a little lacking.

Favorite moment of LMS was probably the intro. It seems silly to focus on it, but it's such an efficient way of immediately establishing these characters so you can jump right into the story. It might seem minor, but it makes a big difference. Plus the end dance sequence is awesome and I laugh out loud every time the biker guy jumps up cheering :lol

In order... rewatch Godfather before you watch Part II, then Casablanca (one of the best scripts and movies of all-time), then E.T., Terminator 1 and 2, Silence, Indiana Jones, etc.

Watching Signs now. With how elaborate those crop circles were throughout the world, what if it was just one viral sensation like planking. Bet if M Knight was to make that movie today he totally would've went in that direction.

Can yall recommend me some other really good/great movies on netflix?
8o

The site doesn't really let me navigate the way I would like. I find myself getting a list of movies on wikipedia and then typing in each one to search on netflix. I can't constantly go by genre.

instantwatcher.com is a great site for browsing Netflix Instant. Search by popular, by RT rating, etc.

Thanks Big J.

End of Watch was good but the way it was going I knew an ending like that was coming :lol :{ A bit wild but they did a good job of me not being able to discern if they went overboard with the more serious situations or if they were just basing it off stuff that I know actually goes down.

watching Rebel Without a Cause, this truly must be one of those "you had to be there" movies

you know, the fact that it was water doesn't bother me too much. like okay, these dudes can't be exposed to water (which you would think they would have been aware of considering how much water is on this planet but whatever, let's say they were brazen enough to think we'd never figure it out), but for it to end like it did, come on :lol give me a hose or a full bathtub or something. and not one whiff by phoenix either after he was portrayed as a feast or famine hitter? i guess they rationalized that by having joaquin miss when he broke the first cup of water.

big j, you thought roman holiday was great? i'm a big audrey fan so of course i saw and enjoyed the feature, but idk, just don't see many people talk about her movies aside from tiffanys and my fair lady. idk if it's on netflix or not, but i'm a big fan of the children's hour. thought her performance and the overall dynamic of that film to be enjoyable. audrey hepburn when she's bratty and upset > any actress today. just noticed you got charade on there as well. you're ok :Nthat

watched fast 5 for the first time front to back today, pretty awesome by f&f standards. question, the broad at the end with dom, was that rocky's female partner?

I don't know why but I watched Premium Rush three times already. Maybe I have not seen much (if at all) movies that revolves around bicycles. Probably will watch again this month when I'm bored.

Yes, the cop from Brazil. The one he grabbed the necklace from.

Still need to see Wait Until Dark which is another one of Hepburn's Oscar nominated roles, but yeah I really enjoyed Roman Holiday.
