I bought the 2012 pair on a whim after having a good night/early morning with someone
That was the first time I can say I liked the olives because I didn’t see them as olives as much as a them being a black/brown retro instead of the OG olive color.
That’s how I feel about these, they’re not olives as much as they’re a black & brown retro…and I’m here for it.
Idk if I’ll get a pair this go around but I’m interested in how they do this time & if they’ll be as limited as 2012

I’m not familiar with the OG look, but regardless if these are close or not they look fantastic. The silhouette , the mute leather, and overall cohesiveness makes this an instant cop.

It is amazing the blatent color difference though. I always thought they leaned more to the brown myself. But again, first pics are not to be taken to heart right now. Im getting a pair no matter what.

Just watched a Sneakerfiles video where he said those pictures are from Size. Looks like that's the retail color unfortunately. I still like em, but I wish they were more olive. Let's hope it's the lighting.

The og olives are a brownish mute greenish huh like color. Not the traditional "olive green" in color. These are straight brown in color. No olive added it appears. But, I will be copping when they go down to that $140-150 range.

I dont recall this being said. I think it just pertained to the powders. Im pretty sure this is the olive were getting.
Like it was said above, I hope lighting in the photos plays a role here with color.

I feel like the mudguard (olive) ages into a brownish color (Espicially if worn/used)
Heck I remember one of my OG Shadows X turned brown after a while
One thing I can’t get pass by, is how much the mudguard has shrunk in height with each rendition

The shrunken mudguard is one of the reasons the shape looks off on the retro 9's.

What color did you dye them? Black? Because I think that was something people used to do years ago with the Olive's.
