Pictures of a Kansas City water slide that will be the tallest in the world have been making the rounds, inspiring awe and terror throughout the Internet.
The Verrückt is set to become the tallest and fastest water slide on the globe when it opens at Schlitterbahn, a Kansas City theme park, in May. Though the specs are a closely-guarded secret, the slide will be approximately 17 stories high and send riders faster than 65 mph. If you’re brave enough to go for a ride, it will take 264 steps to reach the topScreen Shot 2013-11-20 at 12.58.43 PM
The current record-holder for largest slide is the Insano at Beach Park in Brazil. That slide stands 134.5 feet high and sends sliders at 65.2 mph.

What the wedgie factor going down a water slide like that? It has to be crazy, right?

According to the Kansas City Star, the Verrückt won’t be a traditional water slide that you ride down on your back. Instead, it will feature four-person rafts. While the slide is still terrifying and something I would have trouble looking at, let alone riding, I’m calling shenanigans on the world record. A water slide is like the Insano. A slide with a raft is just a really, really high Splash Mountain.
