eddie kendricks-the ultimate collection
the j.b.s-funky good time the anthology (2 discs)
sly and the family stone- the essential sly and the family stone (2 discs)

old school artists that you should AT LEAST have a greatest hits or some random singles of, but I don't have any specifics:

)
Otis Redding

James Brown:

ok, yes, he gets his own section. James is tricky---I personally think most of the greatest hits albums SUCK because they don't recognize/appreciate thata lot of hi songs were far greater than 3-5 minutes. I mean, Funky Good Time was 15...but you'll hardly EVER see that on a greatest hits. Now, to thenovice, and somebody who don't know James and you wanna get your feet wet, I'd recommend 50th Anniversary Collection. It's two discs.....Ant has star time, which is FOUR. You prolly ain't ready for all of that(hail...neither was I
laugh.gif
) Use that to get your feet wet, if you startfeenin' for more, you gotta invest in some albums. If you don't buy anybody's albums, YOU SHOULD BUY FULL JAMES' ALBUMS. I own "In thejungle groove" and a blended album from "Make it funky/the big payback"

Yea...I did that
