PAGING HOVkid: You working the Plaxico case??? NT Lawyers Check in 12/3 UPDATE

Ruined a guys life because he did time? He ruined his life by getting into dogfighting. He just has to pay the time. My belief is that all rules are set foryour convenience and they are written. Whether you follow them it's up to you, but when you get caught you better be ready to do the time.

And as someone said he is an NFL star and is targeted? Don't go to a shady place where you need a gun on you in a club. Go to an upscale place like yourmoney permits you too. In those places you wouldn't need a gun because they don't let shady people in. He broke a law, and now he should pay, just likeVick did.

And in case someone wants to make a racial point, I agree that they do for some reason go after the black athletes more. I mean Matt Jones has YET to besuspended or anything. It's a double standard that myself being white think it's really messed up.

No. They didn't ruin Vick's life simply because he did time. There's plenty of dudes who did bids and came out fine. But they never had to file forbankruptcy in prison.
Explain to me how it's fair and just to FORCE Vick to pay 1 million dollars for the recovery of EACH dog he harmed. 1 million dollars!!!???? You couldclone a damn dog
for a million dollars. Any other dude in Vick's situation without Vick's money wouldn't be ordered to pay a million for each dog. That's beyondexcessive. One thing to
make the man do the time, but to go after him to ensure he's financially bankrupt after he's served his time, is not fair and just.

As far as Burgess, you said "don't go to a shady place". As a star NFL wide receiver, it's going to be difficult for this man to go anywherewithout being recognized and
thus being a target. If somebody wants to touch you, they will. Nobody is above a car jacking, strong armed robbery, etc... I understand why he had his gun,but I also
understand he broke the law. I don't mind him getting his just treatment, but that justice doesn't include making an example out of a personsimply because he's
a celebrity who has broken the law.

Hire security for the night then. Wow, there are so many options out there for him. Don't accept his ignorance. He should know better. He has lived inthe tri state area for how long?

on one hand, i have to say he's an idiot for not having it registered. on the other, NFL stars have been targets for the last few years now (or at leastincidents involving them are making the headlines vs not much being heard before), so i can feel if he felt the need to be protected.

i don't follow the NFL hardcore so i don't know what the sports world thinks of burress. from someone looking in on the situation, i hope hedoesn't get the time. it was a mistake but at the very least, it was for protection. NFL stars aren't safe anymore it seems. i wish him the best.

NY, what really is the deal w/ burress? is he one of those arrogant stars or is he one of the good, stand-up athletes?

Arrogant. Dude is not worth the trouble for the Giants anymore IMO. Just sign TJ in the offseason or something if they want a high profile WR.

This incident happened and New York and he's a star athlete............best believe they will make an example out of him,all roads lead to a dead end. It doesn't help his case that he tried to cover his tracks as well when it all went down. Not looking to good for Plax.
