Passing Your Road Test vol. Tips

Planning on taking my road test in the next couple of weeks any tips on how not to fail, Im in NYC if that helps

Be extra cautious at stop signs. ALWAYS turn ur head to check for other cars. I highly recommend taking at least 1 or 2 lessons with a driving instructor because they will make sure u do all the little things that won't make u fail. And I highly encourage u to take a lesson the morning before ur scheduled test so that the little things that won't make u fail are fresh in ur head.

Passed my road test first time doing this while only learning how to drive 2 weeks prior

Try not to hit the curb when parallel parking. always yield for the pedestrians. come to a complete stop at Stop signs, count to 3, then keep it going. Put your turn signals on as soon as the instructor tells you that youll be turning. Use the mirrors. Look at blindspots. wear your seatbelt before turning the car on, and all lat. Also dont speed, make sure the instructor feels comfortable in the car.

Also, just because you followed all the instructions means you can get careless towards the end of the test. I got a boy who did everything right, but when he pulled over at the end of the test, he hit the curb and he failed.

the secret is be able to drive.
i said like...nothing to my instructor, i just drove like a normal person honestly.
other than the parallel parking advise i'd say just practice everyday leading up to it.
because really all the extra **** is unnecessary if you know how to drive.

above all else: STAY CALM! I was a nervous wreck when I took my test. Failed once over something I couldn't control. Passed the 2nd because the instructor was cool.

It's super easy. I didn't get any practice and still passed. The person who was monitoring me was super nice...didn't make me parallel park and gave me a pass for not knowing where the emergency button was, lol. Just keep pretending to look at the mirror, drive 5 miles below speed limit, focus on the road...all that common sense stuff and you'll get your license

Exaggerate pretty much everything... Turns, stops, all that.

Also try to be cool with your instructor... Small talk helps.

Talk to yourself positive and just calm down, listen to relaxing music or positive vibe type stuff, take it in the morning if you do it in the afternoon , instructor will be crabby as hell, follow spend limit, signal , look both ways and wait that 3 sec rule at stoplights, don't follow to close to other cars, if you do freeway practice a day before, I was killed for not entering at the right speed and it really depends what state your in, Texas doesn't really trip about parallel parking but when I lived in Cali it is imperative you get that **** right, good luck

My biggest problem is telling if I'm clear on the right side...what's te easiest way to know if your not gonna clip something like say your entering a real narrow street or something like that

Use you right side mirror and take it slow but as time goes by you will develop a sixth sense to that, you won't think about it as much, or get those blind spot mirrors for your side mirrors, that is a easy way to cheat as well

Where in NY are you taking it? Try to go to the site before the test so you can a feel for the roads.
Took mine in Red Hook and passed 1st time but everyone before me that day with the instructor failed
