*PHILADELPHIA EAGLES* Official 20-21 Regular Season Thread: WEEK 1 EAGLES vs Football Team 1pm ET

Only the Eagles go out and use a fairly high draft pick on an RB after trading for an above average RB, and then sign a free agent RB mid season but then never run the ball

Fearless Doug just has too much Andy Reid in his dna for his own good and no good coaches with a brain around him.

Carson needs to be a game manager and we win. Not throw the ball 46 times against the worst rushing defense in the league
Exactly what Chris Long has been saying in his podcasts. Being a game manager goes against Carson's instincts as a playmaker. But right now it's what he needs.

Dak is balling out (for the most part) because of his ability to know what his role in the offense is. He also spoke about Brady at this point in his career. He knows his limitations as a QB and his WRs limitations and plays within them

For all the talent he has and as much as I love him, it's almost we need him to dial it back a bit and make the routine plays.

Also, a common misconception is that Carson has become inaccurate and it’s kinda false imo.

Is he playing with the worst set of outside weapons in the league, yes. Is Carson one to force throws into super tight windows, yes BUT only when he knows the WR/TE can make the play. Carson isn’t one to throw many ints because he’s putting the ball where the WR/TE should be to make the play.

Alshon looks washed athletically and isn’t going up to get those passes, we all remember how Kevin King had the clamps but got worked by kittle lol. Agholor is who he is. JJAW can’t run routes apparently. Hollins is a waste of space.

A lot of these throws were the same throws in 2017 but dudes were able to make the plays. Looking back at the two Alshon deep shots: the first one on the sideline was drifting out of bounds yes, 2017 Alshon goes up and gets it (San Fran game). The second one is the same, 2017 Alshon goes up and gets it. But since the WR didn’t make a play on the ball, it comes off as inaccurate.

(yes this might come of as an excuse but I was at the game yesterday, plays were there to be made by the WR/TE.

Nah, you're totally right. It's why I can't hold anything against Carson but at the same time, it's also why I'd like to see some fire from him on the sidelines holding these guys accountable instead of being Mr. Nice Guy all the time. Need to see this kind of emotion from Carson.

Crazy that all we need to do is win out and we're in the playoffs :lol

We'd probably hit the third tiebreaker: https://94wip.radio.com/blogs/eliot...off-chances-tiebreaker-scenarios-with-cowboys

Also, the audacity of Nelly to give Carson a dirty look after he sailed one over his head :lol yeah it was a bad throw but it's his few bad throws to his several game winning drops

It was a set up, Aguilera gets drilled on that attempt by a better team

lol man im sick for you having to enter that all day smh

**** is so pathetic its hard for me to even talk about.. i tried to even stay away from reddit cant do it to myself this week

Dude is running Andy’s offense pre 2016

It’s so stale. He needs to lock himself in a room with Andy in the offseason

Schwartz gotta go because dude is so damn stubborn

He doesn’t adjust for shhh or change even if shh clearly isn’t working

we get lit up by amari every time we play the cowboys and dude won’t adjust and double dude.. nothing about yesterday should be shocking

there was no excuse for Doug not running the ball up 14 in the second half. I feel like he wants to force this Carson is the hero angle so much to the detriment of the team. Carson needs to be a game manager and we win. Not throw the ball 46 times against the worst rushing defense in the league

i feel like this is why there’s a disconnect amongst the team honestly. it’s like that “teachers pet” mentality in school. Everyone hated that kid bc he always got preferential treatment bc he was the star student. So I feel like the team sees how Doug tries to make the team run through Carson even when it isn’t the right situation and it’s pissing them off

Ajayi looked like he was running in cement. He’s washed. We should have signed Bo Scarborough before the Lions did but that would have required our front office to do some actual legwork.

i just think our coaching staff offensively lacks creativity.. they lock certain guys into roles and it's hard for them to adjust

like with the RBs, howard is the running RB and miles was getting fit in where he could while sproles was the pass catcher.. luckily for us sproles got hurt or we probably dont see miles getting these snaps

I completely agree, and I don't think it stops at quarterback either. I KNOW Rasul and Sidney (even though he does indeed suck) have to feel a certain way about Mills and Darby starting over them when they consistently show they stink against any QB willing to throw the ball their way. I think the coaches across the board don't have any answers, they seem completely clueless and don't know how to make adjustments pre-game or during the game. I would love to attend a practice and see what they actually focus on. Doug gives me the vibe that he doesn't do anything new every week in practice or put guys on the spot who consistently screw up.

Just look at the penalties yesterday. Jason Peters with a false start on a third down conversion, Jernigan with offsides and roughing the QB to keep them on the field, Mills with PI twice, Nelson with the worst sold rub route ever garnering a offensive PI. They're always momentum killers that this roster can't overcome, especially Wentz. It's like his situational awareness goes to hell when they get penalized the play before and he takes a bad sack
