I always thought it was such a contradiction that people working retail act stuck up, cause they're working retail. I went in the Louis store in Rome a couple weeks ago and no one was trying to talk to me, haha, but today went in (Louis in Tysons, Virginia) with a suit on (coming from a job interview) and they definitely try to help then.Originally Posted by KayCurrency
So0o...Yesterday I went to the Louis Vuitton Store in DownTown Chicago on Michigan Ave to cop the High-Top Damier Chucks...
...I walked in and was greeted by the Security gaurd...I walked straight to the Mens shoes section in the back of the store...looked around, and I didnt see what I was looking for...NO'ONE asked me if I needed help...I stood in the mens section for about 5 mins before I decided to approach the sales-lady (The only person there) in the womans shoe department.......I told her that I was looking for a "Damier high-top sneaker"... she quickly replied "The mens shoes are in the back"....No smile or anything, just a simple point of the index-finger....At this point im suprised, offended and mad all at the same time.....So I just walked out of the store....eye brows raised and all....
...I think things would have went a WHOLE lot defferently if she knew I had 3k to blow in my pocket....but that shouldnt matter...- only getting attention from the guards- then nobody wants to help you....then everybody stares as you tell them the exact name of something for $1500+ and proceed to the counter...then the akward moment happens as they wait for you to pull out that stolen credit card...but instead out comes a bunch of 20s in rubber bands
that was the scene everytime i had to get my moms something for mothers day, bday, xmas etc when i was younger- now they sorta of know me and i get greeted and helped by everyone-
its whatever...they deal in commission and want to judge books by the cover to make sure they maximize that...if i get some1 who can read people properly they'll know when i come thru i'm spending...
From what i was told
Last season models, excluding anything with the Gucci monagram print.
Last year when i went, all clothing was on sale, and majority of the shoes
-mens shoes hardly go on sale
-mens accessories are a maybe
-mostly stuff from the spring/cruise line
-classic line items here and there
but noone knows for sure until that list drops around the 20th
I understand both perspectives, but yes, you having $3k to blow would make them happy, but they probably see too many non-corporate looking types ALL thetime and 1/10 buy something. They're probably all too willing (sadly) to lose you as a sale as long as they can grab the dude in the suit.
My uncle does commercial real estate, and he often goes to job sites, prospective areas in blue jeans and a tshirt. He never wants the competition to knowhow much $ he has to drop. Makes sense in that regard.
When I bought my whip, I was definitely dressed ok...not super scrub but not my best day either, the salesman took the higher road and was like, wait, you're 24/25, got money to burn, etc, he saw a client for a long time.
