So I went to check out the car. The car drives well, brakes are responsive, tires have plenty of tread left in them, it doesn't swerve to one side when I let go of the wheel. Some of the negatives is that there's scratches and a few small dents around the car. It might need a new paintjob as well, looks like the sun is eating thru the clearcoat on the roof. The front leather seats weren't taken care of, they were all wrinkled and kinda dirty.
why?Youre better off getting a stock car.
Thanks for the tips.At that price, since it's your first time buying a car, I would strongly recommend getting it checked out for peace of mind, and so you know what you're getting yourself into. I'm usually a little hesitant buying cars that people have had for only a short amount of time (having said that, the Sierra I just sold yesterday I only had for a month and a half, the buyer didn't seem too worried ), so that would be another reason to get it looked over.
Those mods are pretty minor, they wouldn't scare me off of buying that car as long as they were done properly.
Lastly, if he's asking $6700, you can definitely get it for cheaper, there's ALWAYS a little wiggle room off anyone's asking price. Bring cash when you go to negotiate after the car has checked out, you'll be surprised how flexible people will become when there's cash in front of them. Don't hesitate to walk away if there's a couple things wrong with the car. Don't believe him when he says he bought it for $6700 and wants his money back.
