Sounds like the average Subaru to me
Mj bad laugh*I don't think STI's or Evo's are advertised as 1300+hp cars straight out of the factory.
Of course they're modded
Their engines make probably around 150hp without their factory turbo lol..
Because the Evo 10 sucked almost as bad as an STI, AND they made it for way too many years (From 2008 to 2016). Those 2 factors added up to poor sales of the Evo
Wonder why Mitsubishi discontinued the EVO.
right.
Sounds like you nearly walked into a nightmare.
I hate to say it, but most of the people that buy these cars, abuse the **** out of them. Granted, it was a 2.5RS and it is pretty old so you'll have problems regardless.
If you can't get it for relatively cheap, with a clean title so you can replace anything that needs replacing, I wouldn't even bother.
If you're going to buy a used STi, know what you're getting into and if you plan on replacing a whole bunch of things anyway and have the time to do the work yourself then it's not so bad. But 50+k mile WRX/STi's are just a ticking time bomb. And they hold their value really well so it's hard to find a good deal. Your best bet is to find a relatively low mileage one and get a ppi.
Parts aren't crazy expensive anyway, if you're staying OEM or going aftermarket. It's when you start looking for big power is when things get kind of pricey. The potential is definitely there, but it just comes down to how much are you willing to put into her.
hahahahahahahaha almost as bad as an STI. Meanwhile STI continues to sell at a sky rocketing rate. Evo was great while it lasted, maybe Mitsubishi revealed too much and they're stumped. Sti beating Evo at their own game, even with their looks.Because the Evo 10 sucked almost as bad as an STI, AND they made it for way too many years (From 2008 to 2016). Those 2 factors added up to poor sales of the Evo
in the mean time, keep motivating me with those STI pics. New pics are appreciated. Ha ha If I need help, I'll be sure to hollar at you, brethren.Definitely sounds like you know what you're doing so you should be fine.
And couldn't agree more, patience is extremely important when considering a car purchase.
Keep an eye on Craigslist for that WRX hatch to pop upMy boy copped an Evo 8 as a side project from his WRX hatch. Wonder how thats gonna go...
Calling those "street" cars is almost as bad as those guys on Street Outlaws claiming their cars are street cars
Speaking of this, someone in Oklahoma called and offered us cash for the 240z drag car we have that is technically street legal and registered here in CA, wonder if that thing will end up on Street Outlaws

They're stock thoughCalling those "street" cars is almost as bad as those guys on Street Outlaws claiming their cars are street cars
You're joking rightThey're stock though
of course. He's always throwing the word "stock" around on those 9 second sti's which is kinda funnyYou're joking right
Word, I mean if you want to get really technical doing anything even as small as putting on an aftermarket exhaust is making the car not stock.of course. He's always throwing the word "stock" around on those 9 second sti's which is kinda funny
