Yeah, this hurts way more than people think. If your car is in the shop waiting for a part, it's gonna sit because to find said part, you need to use the software, so the parts dept is stuck. Then service can't write repair orders and bills. They either tell clients to wait to get their cars (as you damn well know dealers won't just give the cars back without payment for work provided) or they will have to write paper RO's and receipts for bills.
I remember when we didn't have a computer software system at my dealership, let alone computers at every desk. Honestly it was simpler back then. Now this is a humongous inconvenience. And until the ransom is paid, it's not gonna be fixed anytime soon.
Oh, by the way, the ransom from what I read is $10M. But the ransom actually has an MSRP of $29,000 but the ADM is $9,971,000! And no I didn't think of that. Saw it on Instagram.
