Post Your Motorcycle

Had a nice ride sunday morning for about 40 miles. Was still a little chilly in the morning. Can't wait for summer

Got my first bike last night. 1987 honda rebel 450. Friend sold it to me for $700. Figured it'll be a good first bike. Even if I drop it, I won't be feeling too bad.

Passed the msf a month ago but did no riding at all. Tried to take it out for a spin yesterday and felt like a fish out the water. Wasn't even comfortable enough going around the block. Just rode it down my block in first gear and had to roll it back. Smh.

:lol

yall be bustin' 70 MPH in no time bro....

after this case is over, hopefully i'll get on one of these...

Hmmmmm....sounds like it probably involved a certain you tube video that went viral? And maybe a Range Rover?

Solow is still hangin on n fighting. He is able to reply yes or no question by blinkin his eyes. His gf Ana is goin thru multiple surgeries still. She has starting usin FB so it looks promising for her.
There has been a few fund raising events for their hospital bills this past wk. People still continued with the wkly "hood/city" rides.
This wk is the fund raising ride for him. His brothers and multiple family members from LA (he's Cambodian so they deep lol) will be here this wknd for the big ride.
I keep y'all posted on the event.

FYI it's wheelie Wednesday

Well, I just went out for a spin. Everything was going well, I took the first 15 minutes getting used to where the sweet spot is on the clutch. Went around the block a few times and felt pretty good. Unfortunately, I was at a red light and kept stalling out while trying to make a left. Car was honking at me and I panicked which caused me to gas hard. I started losing control and ended up falling. Wasn't going too fast, but damn. Not a good feel at all. Luckily I was wearing a decent leather jacket.

really, it depends on the rider. Personally, farthest I've done on my DR-Z was 100 miles at a time. I have a friend who's prospecting for the HA and they make 300 mile days fairly easy, granted their bikes are huge.

i really want a dr-z400sm...they are perfect for city/urban use...street legal and can handle ****** streets...

It's a decent bike but I wouldn't recommend it personally. It's fine for streets, once you get on the freeway it vibrates like crazy. I'd much rather have a larger displacement bike. Maxes out at 85ish.

I was originally going to try to buy an R6 when I finished paying my Cadillac. I'm most likely going to get an FXR instead, maybe a nightster.

Fam, you'll get it in no time. Above all, don't ride past your limits.

Also, I'm hopefully getting a job at Cycle Gear. The manager just really lags and I have to follow up all of the damn time. Applied online, went in something like 3 days later to drop off my resume and talk to the manager. Told me the process and that HR should give me a call but if they didn't to call him and he'll pull my profile manually. So I called him, said he'd have the AM call me to schedule an interview. Never called. I called back, got a phone interview, they'd call back to schedule a face to face. They didn't call back, so I did. I did my face to face on Wednesday and he said he'd stay in contact.

Pretty sure I'll have to contact him again. :{

Got out this weekend. Bad pic of my katana and pop's Victory Cross country classic

all depends on the person. I'd say a weekend. To be absolutely comfortable riding your bike like you are with a car, I'd say a month.

I took the course, passed the test, and now have my license, but am still not comfortable riding on the street.

I am in negotiations to buy a bike now... and I think I am just going to take it out and practice in a parking lot until I feel totally comfortable getting on the road.

side streets will be your friend too...just learning to deal with flow/stop and go of traffic was sort of hard for me...id go out early when no other cars were around

Took me a few hours. I've always rode bicycles and it's the same thing to me. So I took the class, which was easy and helpful. Gotta bike when I got some money. Then I rode it with my boy in my neighborhood for 10-20 minutes, then we were out. Couple hours later i'm on the highway doing 80.

necessary...especially for your first motorcycle, practicing hard braking, finding the friction point/getting smooth engagement of the clutch, low speed turns, are all things that will help you feel that much more confident on your ride. i'd also recommend hitting a freeway/highway (slow lane!!!) rather than riding around the neighborhood/city streets just because there is actually less information coming at you on expressways (just be easy on the on/off ramps!) than on the street. good luck getting the new ride!

Damn
