PS3 PRICE DROP, CAN ANYONE HELP

So im about to buy the ps3, now i heard that there was a price drop in august when madden'10 comes out theyd cut 100 dollars. But my friend told me thatsony was interested in making a ps3 with no blu ray, so if theres no blu ray it may be a cheaper ps3, but is that the one to be released, or will they drop ablue ray ps3 with a 100 dollar price cut, thanks
