Bought an $80 mouse, and a little gaming keyboard (Wolfking Warrior), and assumed it would mean the dawn of an era of me being untouchable on MW2.

I'm back to using a controller, You can't do all the things you have to in a fast-paced FPS.

Here are some problems:
Spoiler [+]
1) the only buttons you can use to map on your mouse at the moment are Left click, Right click, and center mouse wheel click. That leaves all other buttons on the PS3 controller to your left hand on the keyboard. That is way too many. PU has announced that they are gonna patch in the use of side buttons on mice as well, but as of now, it is retired.

2) Because of the PS3 controller's negative acceleration on the analog sticks, you cannot use a mouse in the same way as on a computer, where the speed of your aiming reticle depends entirely on the speed of your hand.

To try to explain this, you know how if you only tilt the stick halfway to the edge, you aim slower than if you push it all the way to the edge? This is the problem all of these products have trouble getting past.

So with the EEC, your first motions with the mouse are slower, then you pass this threshold where you are able to move the reticle at its fasted, so there is a type of mouse movement where you have to get used to. To move the fastest (180's or 360's) you have to sweep the mouse smoothly across the whole mousepad, not a fast, twitch or snap like on PC FPS games. This is also tough to get used to.

3) Whenever you are aiming down the sights (L1) and are trying to zero in on a target, micromovements with the EEC are jerky and not precise. I have found that I've either jerked past my target, or not moved the mouse enough to make it register and aim a little short of my target, costing me deaths.

4) On the X-Y aiming axis, the Y-axis (vertical) aiming is slower than horizontal aiming, which sucks. Luckily my mouse (logitech G500) has software to adjust both sensitivities separately, so I was able to find a pretty good even ground there. Not all mice allow this.

5) pressing certain buttons on the keyboard that aren't mapped to the controller buttons cause the device to shut off, needing you to unplug it from the PS3 and re-plug it in. PU said they're gonna patch that, as well.

After writing about the Eagle Eye I realised that my gaming setup is pretty ******ed, and no regular person would try to run all the %$^# I bought for video games, and figured I'd take some pics to show you guys how I run all these things.

Please note that this is just for gaming

I have another room with an older TV/older surround sound system for actually watching movies, and TV. This hopefully explains the ghetto TV stand, lack of furnishings, dog kennel, and air hockey table squeezed in around all this.

The setup:
42'' Samsung TV, only does 720p but it was really inexpensive.
80GB PS3 (Metal Gear Solid Bundle)
Turtle Beach X41 transmitter/stand Headphones
Altec Lansing Peripheral speakers. 2.1 computer speakers but they get the job done. I am 90% using Headphones anyway.

Old keyboard table for my EEC setup

Wolfking Warrior gamepad (have stickers on it to show which button is what on the PS3 controller)
Couple of DS3's
Sony keypad
Sony Ericson bluetooth headset
Logitech G500 mouse
Steelseries mousepad
Sony Vaio laptop for running the PVR software and posting on NT.

The Eagle Eye Converter - alot of wire, I know

. You have the mouse and keyboard going into the EEC via USB, then a USB from the EEC to the PS3.
Also shown is the power cord for my laptop and the USB cable for my Hauppauge HD PVR.

Here is my set-up.

I just bought a 19inch TV for traveling, so I hooked one of my PS3's up to it.

My other one is in my room and used almost exclusively for Blu-rays and watching downloaded tv shows.

My monitor is a 22 inch, as I need it for work.... looks hilarious beside the tv.

I was always under the impression that it could do either... I've had it for over two years and it's been standing the whole time. I was afraid to put it in the slot where the VCR currently is cause it was pretty closed in... Might lay it down on top, I just moved the whole setup into that room about 3 weeks ago, still working on placement of stuff.

They work terrifically as headphones! But the microphone only works on an XBox. That's why I have that bluetooth mic. I clip it around the collar of my shirt, and have other people's voices set to come out of the TB's. I also own the PX21's, but I let my friend use them at his place. For the money the PX21's are a waaaaay better value.
