QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Yeah, but Teddy has skinny knees tho. :rolleyes

:lol

Hot damn Teddy. That's a helluva start. I hope they get him some toys. I have them going OT with #11, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them maybe trade down, add a pick, and grab a WR or 3. Plus, with this draft, they can add a solid young RB to replace AP if that goes down.

i'd be cool with the Vikings getting one...unless it's at the direct cost of my dudes getting one :lol

Russell Wilson last year in 3 playoff games. 524 yards, 3 TD's 101.6 rating. Super Bowl.

Alex Smith in one playoff game last year. 378 yards, 4 TD's 119.7 rating. Lost in Wild Card game.

Must have been those 42 yards rushing in 3 games that really elevated Russ's game to Super Bowl heights.

Ya know what tho, Alex had 57 yards rushing in his one game.................................

But according to you box scores don't matter. It's all about the eye test

That is correct.

And my eyes showed me that Russ made one single throw in the Saints game to seal it. (great one handed catch by Baldwin I believe it was)
Made I think 2 plays vs the 9ers, the offsides heave caught in the end zone, not sure what the other one was
And then he was up 29-0 in the Super Bowl before I even saw him make a play.

So between stats, and my eyes, not sure what all he did last postseason.

Now the Carolina game, he was very, very good. And I give him credit for that game, WAY better than anything he did last year.

So let's say russell had a bunch of dump off and short passes in the game too. Would that change your mind? Since most that's what these QB'S you constantly slurp do

seriously...can we just stop entertaining the discussion of the ******* dolphins :lol

Yesssss Yesssss.... Let the hate flow through you... :evil

seriously...can we just stop entertaining the discussion of the ******* dolphins :lol

^

Guess we should go back and talk about the Patriots and Texans then... :rolleyes

Miami Dolphins talk not going away...

God Damn Right it's Not!!!! Yea... It will.. lol.

Could you name said QB's for me please? So I have an accurate idea of who you are referring too.

Manning, Brady, Ryan, Brees. All QBs use the short passes and check downs to open up the big plays. Tell me I'm wrong please. I would like to know the QBs constantly throwing long passes all game

I clearly remember Wilson having a long pass of like 40 yards in the beginning of the Super Bowl

Also I could have sworn he had some key scrambles in the playoffs

I think some of yall are mesmerized by passing yards and passing touchdowns

Theres more to NFL quarterbacking in than that sometimes it's a about smart play, things like not throwing interceptions, converting 3rd downs knowing when to throw the ball away

Been a fan of his since seeing this ridiculousness

Goodness :x

I still find it hilarious in hindsight how he was arguably the least talked about QB at the draft and how much of a hit his draft stock took after the combine :lol. Like people seriously all got up and came down with a case of selective amnesia in regards to his actual on field performance during his last year.

But, you said I constantly slurp.

You have seen me slurp Peyton or Ryan in here? Matt Ryan? :lol Or do you mean Ryan Tannehill?

And I thought for sure.......checking.....yep I did, I said months ago that Brees looks "off" this year, and he wasn't his usual self. Now PFF disagreed with that, and I disagree with them. So, you see me in here slurping Drew Brees?

And Brady is Brady, and I was ready as **** to bury him after KC, but he quickly told me to shut up, and I did.

Nobody in here is worried about Russ throwing long or short. That hasn't even come up. He wasn't throwing at all in last year's playoffs is the point. 68 passes in 3 games. In today's NFL. Dalton threw 51 last year in 1 playoff game. Luck threw 86 in 2 games. Kap played 3 games, he threw 82 passes.

Seattle was based off the run and play defense. We've said that over and over. We all saw it, and I know you guys did too. For some reason, you don't want to admit it.

Listen to what I am saying. If my team could win a super bowl, I wouldn't give two ***** if Ryan threw 7 passes for the season. Long as we win the title, I'm straight. Russ won, and earned his Super Bowl, but he was not the reason why. He had one of the best defenses we've ever seen, and a tremendous running back. You guys are so defensive about Russ when we are telling straight up facts. It's 29-0 before Russ even started sweating. :lol :lol :lol That's not a knock on the kid, it's a plain and simple truth. Why deny it?

Also, sometimes it's about having the best defense to carry your ***, chipping in with a safety and an interception returned for a touchdown, or one of the top NFL running backs in the league bowling guys over, or even one of the fastest receivers in the NFL leading your team in rushing during the Super Bowl off 2 sweeps, and adding a game ending 90 yard kickoff return.

But what we really need to know is, how many pro bowlers were on the Seahawks last year for Russ to elevate their play? Cuz that's what REALLY matters to Quarterbacks. ;)

He went from being #1 or #2 to bottom of the first round somehow. :{

I truly do not understand how or why that happened. Like how the **** do we have people push for Ponder, Locker, Gabbert, Bortles to be top 12 picks, but Teddy has to go 31 or wherever he ended up? :x I just don't understand the logic of that.

I don't know why Sea fan sweats any criticism of RW. He won you a SB, who gives a flying F what people say? People said the same garbage about Ben in 05....all background noise :lol :smokin

Following the Falcons taking that 20 point lead in the third quarter, Wilson was 4-of-4 for 69 yards on the next drive  and finished it with a rushing touchdown. He was 3-of-3 for 57 yards, including a touchdown pass to Zach Miller. He was 3-of-4 for 50 yards on the go-ahead drive, leaving just :34 seconds on the clock.

Russy's best playoff performance...one of his true put the team on his back moments but the defense had to **** it up

Only interceptoon given up was to Julio friggim Jones

russ was so good in that ATL game, what could have been...we were red hot going into the playoffs that year

There were 5 Pro Bowlers on last seasons Seahawks

The Seahawks defense is great. Having a top ranked defense doesn't guarantee anything though (Ask Marino)

But I think Russell Wilson helps them too, they aren't on the field near much as they were before Wilson took over in

Marshawn was always a good back but he didn't take off to another level til he was paired with Russell Wilson

In 2011, they were muddling rushing attack since Russell Wilson has taken over they'd been top 5 in rushing

That Atlanta game is why I defend Russell so much.

I saw everything I needed to see.

That Falcons game was a brilliant performance by Wilson. Easily his best playoff performance.

But the thing is, that Falcons game exemplifies the original point that CP and others like me have been saying. To this point, More often than not in his career, the Seahawks game to game success had very little to do with Wilson. Just look at his playoff career as an example. The one game he truly balled out was the only game the Seahawks lost.

I hate to entertain, but Marino had a defense like the Seahawks? Am I forgetting something?

And a lot of this RW talk isn't that he COULDN'T carry the team, at this point he has rarely had to. At some point in his career the team around him will be less fantastic and we will get an answer
