It felt like that was a little strand left over from a longer cut of the movie.I thought the woman with the bandana would be a factor... they showed her when they arrived and made a point to show her again when Django came back.

I mean Inglorious Bastards wasn't that exact story you described, but it very similar. Jews (from american) subjecting Nazi's(would-be tormentors) to horrors, while using witty dialogue and humorous situations.

We already had this whole discussion, you're not going to convince him.I mean Inglorious Bastards wasn't that exact story you described, but it very similar. Jews (from american) subjecting Nazi's(would-be tormentors) to horrors, while using witty dialogue and humorous situations.

One big difference between this and IB is that in IB they never really showed any Nazi atrocities, other than the first scene, but even then you just see them shooting into the floor. Where as in Django there was no problem with showing dog maulings and whippings. Makes me wonder if the reception for IB would have been different if they had a gas chamber scene
I can see that. But then again, I think Django's plot allowed for QT to show those graphic and detailed scenes. IB was about the war and a certain unit, the devestation was more distant than a slave escaping then rescuing his wife from a plantation. If IB was about one jewish man's redemption Im pretty sure they would've (graphically) showed what the Nazi's did, but like you said Im not sure that movie would ever get the green light. And if it did, we would probably have a bunch of ppl reacting the same exact way Spike Lee did, which is hilarious.See belowWe already had this whole discussion, you're not going to convince him.I mean Inglorious Bastards wasn't that exact story you described, but it very similar. IB didnt show nearly a tenth of how bad the holocaust really was. Im just saying, if QT wanted to show jewish prisoners getting baked and gassed in IB, I doubt the film wouldve gotten madeOne big difference between this and IB is that in IB they never really showed any Nazi atrocities, other than the first scene, but even then you just see them shooting into the floor. I might have missed it but was the "trunk scene" shown somehow?
100 Black Coffins is
Didn't really enjoy it like everyone else. Idk maybe I need to see it again.
I didn't think it was as great as everyone is making it out to be either.
That Pac scene was the truth and there were a couple startling depictions here and there (no spoilers) other than that it was just a well done shoot em up in a provocative era IMO.
I thought Inglorious Basterds was a much more layered and poignant film.
Very solid and enjoyable movie, though.
Jamie's horse in the movie is actually his horse in real life.
